MLB | Yankees vs Mariners
Play on: Mariners +210 at Buckeye
1* Free Play on Mariners +210
A late afternoon game will feature the Yankees (87-47) against the Mariners (56-77) in a showdown in Seattle, where the Mariners have a 29-39 home record. The Yankees are now 4-4 in their nine-game road trip on the west coast.
The Yankees will be going with James Paxton (10-6, 4.43 ERA) on the mound. As a former Mariner, the left-hander will be making his first start against his old team in the 126thMajor League start of his career. In his last outing, Paxton allowed five hits and two runs in 6 2/3 innings.
In an interesting twist, Paxton will be facing Justus Sheffield (0-0, 6.43 ERA), who was part of the deal that sent Paxton to New York. The 23-year-old left-hander will be making his second MLB start. Sheffield’s first start concluded with three runs allowed over four innings.
Last season, Sheffield made three appearances for the Yankees, all in relief.
With a 10.5-game lead in the AL East, the Yankees are in cruise control while the Mariners won’t feel much pressure as they sit 30 games back of the Astros in the AL West.Comment

MLB | Pirates vs Phillies
Play on: Phillies -140 at betonline
Jack’s Free Pick Wednesday: Philadelphia Phillies -140
It’s important for the Philadelphia Phillies to bounce back from their loss to the Pirates yesterday as they try and chase down a wild card spot in the National League. The Pirates are just 12-31 since the All-Star Break.
Vincent Velasquez certainly hasn’t lit it up this season for the Phillies. However, he is still the better starter in this contest, and he has a 4.71 ERA and 1.186 WHIP in six home starts this season.
This play is a fade of Mitch Keller as much as anything. Keller is 1-2 with a. 7.24 ERA and 1.829 WHIP in six starts this season, including 1-2 with a 10.47 ERA and 2.266 WHIP in four road starts.
Philadelphia is 22-7 when revenging a one-run loss over the last two seasons. The Phillies are 40-18 in their last 58 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Philadelphia is 8-3 in Velasquez’s last 11 home starts. The Phillies are 9-3 in the last 12 meetings, including 5-1 in the last six meetings in Philadelphia. Bet the Phillies Wednesday.Comment

1 Unit FREE PLAY on Toronto Blue Jays +134
I like the price we are getting on the Toronto Blue Jays today as underdogs to the Atlanta Braves. Jacob Waguespack has pitched very well for the Blue Jays this season at 3-1 with a 2.97 ERA in seven starts. He just tossed seven shutout innings at the Dodgers in his last turn, which is no small feat. Mike Foltynewicz is 4-5 with a 5.68 ERA in 15 starts for the Braves. Folty has a 5.68 ERA in two previous starts against the Blue Jays as well. Give me Waguespack and the Blue Jays.Comment

10* FREE MLB PICK (Cubs/Mets UNDER 7.5)
I'll take my chances here with the Cubs/Mets scoring fewer than 8 runs in Wednesday's matchup. Two of the National League's best will be facing off in the Cubs Kyle Hendricks and the Mets Noah Syndergaard. Both have been outstanding of late. Hendricks has allowed 1 run on 6 hits in 14 innings over his last 2 starts. He's allowed 2 or fewer earned runs in 9 of his last 10 starts. Syndergaard has a 1.89 ERA in his last 3 starts and and has allowed 2 or fewer in 7 of his last 8. Give me the UNDER 7.5!Comment

MLB | Twins vs White Sox
Play on: Twins -178 at 5Dimes
1* Free MLB Pick on Minnesota Twins -178
Easy play here on Minnesota. The Twins are 100% locked in right now, as they try to hold on to that 3.5-game lead over the Indians in the AL Central. Minnesota has won 3 straight and 8 of 11 overall. They took the series opener 3-1 on Tuesday, winning against Chicago's top starter in Lucas Giolito.
The White Sox simply couldn't get anything going and have now totaled a mere 3 runs in their last 3 games combined. Hard to see them snapping out of that funk against Minnesota's Jake Odorizzi. While Odorizzi is a solid 13-6 with a 3.57 ERA and 1.244 WHIP in 25 starts this season, we are focused more on the fact that he's throwing here on 6 days of rest, instead of the standard 4. Odorizzi is 5-0 with a 1.00 ERA when throwing on 5 or more days of rest.
Twins are also 16-5 in his last 21 starts vs a team with a losing record, 8-2 in his last 10 road starts and 7-0 in his last 7 after giving up 2 or less runs in their last game. Take Minnesota!Comment

Dave’s Wednesday Free Play:
1* on Minnesota Twins -1.5 (-120)
The Key: The Minnesota Twins should win by multiple runs over the Chicago White Sox tonight. Jake Odorizzi is 13-6 with a 3.57 ERA in 25 starts this year. Odorizzi sports a 3.22 ERA in 8 lifetime starts against the White Sox. Ross Detwiler is 2-3 with a 4.63 ERA in 7 starts this season while averaging only 5 innings per start. The Twins are 5-0 in their last 5 road games. Minnesota is 8-2 in Odorizzi’s last 10 road starts. The Twins are 13-5 in the last 18 meetings, including 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Chicago. Take Minnesota on the Run Line.Comment
