The Tribe are still in the wildcard hunt, and still in the running for the AL Central and have plenty to play for, LA not so much who have dropped 13 out of their last 17 games. Cleveland off a 6-2 win last night in this series. While neither starting pitcher is one to get excited about when looking at the last 3 stats, Suarez is really not a starter for LA ( 7.82 ERA last 3) and Plesac for Cleveland despite a recent slump is still a solid starter with a 3.98 ERA YTD. Suarez has dropped all 4 of his last home starts and has not won a game since June 15th.
The bullpen of Cleveland is at a 2.70 ERA their last 5 games, LA's is 5.20, and bear in mind I doubt either of these guys get past the 5th inning, so bullpens are crucial. Suarez is a southpaw and the Tribe are hitting southpaws at .289 their last 5 games. Oakland has their hands full with Houston so this is Cleveland's chance to gain a game on them in the playoff race again with a win, they will be dialed in against a team THEY WON at 22-4 the last 26 meetings.
This line will skyrocket - bet it EARLY.

Tonight we have Ryan Yarbrough facing off against Lance Lynn in Arlington. Ryan Yarbrough owns a 2.42 ERA on the road this year over 5 starts with a BAA of only .174. Coming off a rocky start against Baltimore doesnt factor into this for me because Baltimore is very good at hitting LHP. The rangers are only hitting .232 against LH starting pitchers this season. They also have a strikeout rate of 25% against starters from the left side. Yarbrough has great BAA splits from both sides of the plate with LH batters (.200) and RH batters(.216). Although 6 of 9 batters for Tex should be hitting from the right side his OPS against is only .586 when facing right handed batters (50 points lower than against left handed batters). I expect Yarbrough to hold Texas to 1 or 2 runs in the 1st 5.
Lance Lynn has been mostly dominant this season with a couple bad starts mixed in. He faces off against a Tampa lineup that does not face well against hard throwing power pitchers like Lynn. Against power pitchers Tampa Bay is hitting .231 with a strikeout percentage of 32%. With the bases empty Lynn BAA is .251 and drops to .247 with runners on then drops again to .229 when in socring position. I love backing 1H unders when the underdog starting pitchers BAA drops like that. Another stat im looking at is number of times through the order numbers. Lynn's BAA does not change much with 1st time BAA .248, 2nd time .250, 3rd time .241. Usually on the hitters side with good teams these Batting Averages significantly increase and the Rays 1st and 2nd time facing starting pitchers moves from .246 to only .257. I think Lynn dominates this Rays lineup at home and possibly keeps them scoreless through 5.
