Comp play for Monday on the Under in the Phillies and Nationals contest.

Zach Efflin has found some late season success as the righty comes into this start sporting a 1.15 ERA over his last 3 starts, and he has allowed no earned runs in his last pair of starts (4 unearned runs in that span), and the Under has been the play in 5 of his last 7 season starts.

Patrick Corbin has allowed 3 earned runs or less in each of his last 8 starts, and the Under is 4-3-1 over his last 8 season starts. The Under is also 9-1 the last 10 home starts that Corbin has made.

Season series numbers show 3 in a row played between the teams, and 7 of the last 9 this season between the division rivals having landed Under the total.

Go Under with Efflin and Corbin on the hill in D.C. on Monday.

For Monday, let's go with the Mets to win their game at home against the Marlins by at least a pair of runs.

New York is not technically eliminated from postseason contention, but it's pretty darn close. No worries though tonight, as Steven Matz owns a career (11 starts) 2.83 ERA against the Marlins, and I expect him to keep the bats quiet tonight as the Mets must win every one of their remaining games to even think about a postseason berth.

Matz was on the mound when the Mets and Marlins last played, as New York won that game 7-2 back on August 7th. New York has won 6 in a row over Miami, and 5 of those 6 wins have come by at least 2 runs.

Caleb Smith had lost 4 straight decisions prior to winning his last time out against Arizona. Miami is just 3-10 their last 13 games, so back the Mets to keep their slim playoff hopes alive behind Matz here on Monday.

Mets by at least 2 runs.
