Here we have nasty weather...a likely rain situation...crazy cross wind coming from right to left field at damn near 20mph and a spot where 2 of the better pitchers for each squad going late in this season. Nova has had a solid second half of the season and Tyler Alexander (who we've faded) has topped Nova in most aspects, especially lately.

Detroit facing RHP lately are at the bottom of the league, including metrics that rank, over the past 2 weeks:

ChiSox facing LHP over the same period of time has been much more effective, but with very few PAs and NONE at home.

The umpire today is Jerry Meals who is an Under specialist with 19 Unders and 9 Overs in his 28 HPU jobs. In the AL the record for Unders is 9-4. A rain delay if this occurs only aids in my liking of an Under, ESPECIALLY if it occurs before any pitching changes or delays causing pitching issues occurs. Hitters are a routine beast and if Alexander and Nova get to still pitch but the offense has a delay I always enjoy this route for an Under play.

The Pirates just swept the Cubbies in a series that would have offered ENORMOUS gains in a rollling parlay situation where they were 2 dollar dogs for games 1 and 2 then Vegas righted the ship for game 3 but couldn't stop the dog from winning and now the Reds travel to Pittsburgh where they can't seem to sniff a win for a season ending road series a day after Marty Brennamen retired, a pillar of the Cincy community and 46 years on the job. Bad blood between these 2 teams and just far far too much value on the +1.5 on Pittsburgh when they have the momentum and desire and home field and extra at bat and all the signs pointing toward them tonight!

Glasnow v. Action

This is the kind of value you cannot always be certain you will be offered...and we get it in the form of a Run line on a team that needs all 3 of these games like blood...can still potentially HOST a 1 game playoff for themselves and have gone through a battering ram of teams to get to this opportunity. They are on the road, the hotter team and to get a 2 run win we just have to lay -140ish of juice.

The Blue Jays have really surprised in the second half and put together quite an exciting team many will look forward to following intensely. Now it comes down to the final weekend and they are at home and can feel the banana boat coming. Bichette and Gurriel are out and Zeuch on the mound does not inspire confidence against the potential ace of the Rays staff. The Rays took 1 from the Dodgers before reeling off 3 of 4 from the BoSox hungry to spoil, then swept a quick 2 gamer with the Yanks...they sure as hell ain't gonna stop now against injured and ready to be done Jays. The Jays have been able to beat the O's and the like down the stretch, but this is a huge step up.

The Rays can smell the blood in the water with Oakland...they have won 6 of 8 games, but in the same stretch, they score 3 or less runs in 6 of the last 8 games as well. While the A's do get the even worse M's to finish off...without being able to score could spell doom for hosting the game...Tampa sure hopes so and will get the job done today!

Berrios v. Skoglund

1) Wind blowing straight out 11+mph

2) This number rapidly heading toward 10.5

3) Twins have clinched the division and can do no better than 3rd overall record....but the offense does not seem to have sputtered even a little bit in the fade the champagne type spots...it is just so consistently excellent no matter the lineups, it is hard to back anything but an Over with wind out in the division. The Twins in the division as 2 dollar or bigger favorites this season are 19 Over-11 Under with an average of 11.5 runs total per game.

4) They just finished a 4 games series where 13, 17, and 20 runs were scored in 3 of the 4 games...and at home with much less wind as a factor and winning 3 of 4 of the games, thus eliminating an entire at bat for the Over play.

5) Berrios faced this team just last week and was beat around for 6IP, 8 hits, 5ER, and 5Ks in a game that was important enough to still be fighting for the division and avoidance of a wild card playoff game.

6) Twins facing LHP over the past few weeks are dominant with a near 10% BB rate, 17% K rate, .238 ISO, 25 wRC, 4.3 wRAA, .345 wOBA, and 119 wRC+

7) piece de resistance - Carlos Torres behind the plate has a 21-8 Over record on the season...allowing over 12 runs per contest, gone Over 8 of his last 10 , and with a heavy road favorite we should be afforded all 18 total at bats!

This VALUE is insane...we played it last night and hard to imagine we come off for no reason other than Vegas is super lazy and allows us this opportunity. LAA is trying and proving something without Trout down the stretch and playing a bit of spoiler. On the run line last night we got an outright win and with the better pitcher again tonight hard to imagine that isn't again a possibility....but we get plus money AND. run and hook!
