Formidable average Equibase speed figs in dirt sprint races make this racer a solid contender. ETHEL EILEEN - Has been running admirably lately and will almost certainly be on the lead early on. Ought to be given a shot based on the very strong speed rating earned in the last race.

HYANNISPORT - Enriquez and Tracy perform well when they combine forces. It's hard to beat a +93 ROI for a rider and conditioner. Last race was at Century Mile in a race with a class number of 95. Dropping a significant amount in class figure this time around puts him in a solid position in this race. Changes tracks from last out at Century Mile to here. Multiple wins on different tracks tell me this horse likes to switch it up, so that's a good sign. Ran a lackluster race at Century Mile last time out. Racing under normal track conditions puts this gelding at the top of my contenders roll call. DALE THE BUG MAN - Taking a big drop in Equibase class figure points from his Sep 10th race at Prairie Meadows. Based on that data, I will give this horse the edge. This gelding is in nice form, having run a nice race on September 10th, finishing third. The jockey and trainer combination have a lucrative ROI when they combine forces. Ranks uppermost in earnings per start. A dominant try right here will boost the lifetime bankroll. PRIMO PRO - Could be a possible overlay in this field at odds of 10/1. Finished fifth in last race at Albuquerque but was close at the finish line.

Three consecutive improved Equibase speed figs (49-53-65) make this horse a solid contender. This filly's last figure is high enough to win here, I'll wager on her right back in today's event. DEREYA - Pinero comes to ride after getting to know the filly in the last contest. You'll be making money right and left by turning your betting money onto this rider/handler combination. Three consecutive improved speed figures (40-42-55) make this horse a solid contender.

I'm backing Pablo Carreno-Busta in the rubber match against David Goffin in the 1st round of the 2019 Rakuten Japan Open. This showdown in Tokyo will mark the third meeting between these two since they met in the 3rd round of the U.S. Open in New York. Goffin won that meeting in three sets 7-65 7-69, 7-5. That could have went either way.
They again met just a little over a week ago at the Moselle Open and it was a different story. Carreno-Busta made easy work of Goffin 6-3, 6-2.
The Japan Open is played on an outhard hard surface. Carreno-Busta is 19-6 on hard surfaces in 2019, while Goffin is just 15-13. Goffin might be ranked higher and the favorite in this match, but the value is with the underdog. Take Carreno-Busta!
