Don't overthink this game. The Astros have won 107 games this year and have a dominant hitting lineup. Astros starter is in the conversation for the Cy Young again and pitched 7 innings in Game 1 allowing just 1 run. The Rays will have all hands on deck, as they must, but are going to be starting reliever Diego Castillo. Castillo has been good but he will only be able to give 3 innings at the most. The Rays don't really have many options available to them after Castillo. Eventually the Astros lineup will take its toll on a taxed Rays pitching staff. A good season for the Rays ends tonight as the Astros get the win by at least 2 runs.
Houston Astros vs. Tampa Bay Rays Preview and Predictions 10-08-2019
The Tampa Bay Rays were the first team to truly embrace the "bullpen day" in which they utilize a host of relievers instead of a traditional starter. They'll employ that method in a do-or-die Game 4 of the American League Division Series against arguably the best starter in baseball in Houston's Justin Verlander when the Astros visit the Rays on Tuesday.
Tampa Bay avoided a sweep with a 10-3 win in Monday's Game 3, utilizing four home runs and a solid pitching performance led by Charlie Morton to keep its season alive. "The crowd was tremendous," Rays manager Kevin Cash told the media of the Game 3 environment. "Thank the Bay area fans. It was awesome. ... We fed off that momentum right there for multiple innings." Carrying that momentum over against Verlander is no easy task, as the former MVP tossed seven scoreless innings while yielding one hit in leading the Astros to a Game 1 victory. Diego Castillo will serve as Tampa Bay's opener as the club tries to force a deciding Game 5 on Thursday in Houston.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Astros RH Justin Verlander (1-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. Rays RH Diego Castillo (0-0, 0.00)
Verlander's Game 1 win left him at 8-0 with a 2.14 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) in the division series round, and 14-7 with a 3.05 mark in his postseason career. He has won four straight starts dating to the regular season, allowing five runs in 24 innings during that span. The 36-year-old is 6-3 with a 2.87 ERA in 10 career starts at Tropicana Field.
Castillo served as the opener six times during the regular season and posted a 6.15 ERA in that role, compared to 3.08 in his 59 relief appearances. He tossed two scoreless innings in the AL wild-card game against Oakland and another 1 2/3 scoreless in the Game 2 loss at Houston. Game 1 starter Tyler Glasnow, Game 2 starter Blake Snell and southpaw Ryan Yarbrough -- who has thrown just one inning of relief in the series -- are all candidates to get some outs with the season on the line.
WALK-OFFS
1. Rays SS Willy Adames went 3-for-3 with a home run and a double in Game 3 after opening the postseason 1-for-8 with four strikeouts.
2. Astros 2B Jose Altuve is 4-for-13 with two home runs and two doubles in the series.
3. Tampa Bay is 7-4 in its postseason history when facing elimination.

NHL | Oilers vs Islanders
Play on: Islanders -150 at sportsbook
1* Free Play on Islanders -150
If the Oilers (2-0-0, 4 points) want to stay perfect in this new season, they’ll have to take down the Islanders (1-1-0, 2 points) in New York.
With both wins coming by a single goal, Edmonton has been good on offense and mediocre on defense. Through two games, the Oilers have scored nine goals and allowed seven. With a save percentage of just .892, Edmonton goalie Mike Smith is allowing 3.5 goals per game.
Joining Vegas and Anaheim, the Oilers are now one of three teams sitting at 2-0-0 in the Pacific Division.
The Islanders recovered from a 2-1 loss against Washington in the season opener to get a 4-1 victory over Winnipeg on Sunday. Thomas Greiss has been the better of New York’s two goalies through two games, saving 35 of 36 shots against him.
Alongside Robin Lehner, Greiss helped the Islanders allow the fewest goals (196) in the NHL a season ago.
Connor McDavid leads the line for Edmonton with two goals, three assists, and five total points. Anthony Beauvillier is tops on the Islanders with one goal and two assists.

1* Free MLB Pick on Astros/Rays OVER 7.5
I really like the value with the OVER 7.5 in tonight's ALDS matchup between the Astros and Rays. Houston will send out Justin Verlander, while the Rays turn to 'opener" Diego Castillo.
Verlander was sensational in Game 1 in this series, as he held Tampa Bay to just 1 hit over 7 shutout innings. I don't think he's going to be bad by any means, but chances are he's not quite as sharp throwing on just 3-days rest. We also just saw the Rays put up 10 runs at home in Game 3.
As for Castilo this will be his first time serving as the opener since late August. Last 3 starts he's made have not been great. He's got a 10.39 ERA and 1.848 WHIP in his last 3 starts. Just too much fire-power with that Houston lineup for them to not put up at least 5 runs in this matchup.
OVER is 40-24 in the Rays last 64 home games with a total of 7 to 8.5 runs, 13-4 in Castillo's last 17 starts over the last 2 seasons and 5-1 in the Astros last 6 division road playoff games. Take the OVER!
