Now, let's get to today's picks! Below are the Pythagorean picks for today:
1.5* Star Betting Series: Chicago Blackhawks {B** Bet - The Blackhawks was a Pythagorean bet on 10/12 and they lost the game. Today is the Blackhawks play their next game, and they happen to qualify under the Pythagorean system again. Therefore, we turn the straight bet into a chase series. Assume that this {B** bet is the final bet in the A-B chase series unless if for any reason the Blackhawks lose again today, AND the Pythagorean system picks the Blackhawks again on the very next game that they play. If that happens, then the Blackhawks could go to a {C** bet.

4-Unit Play. #014. Take Chicago Blackhawks -135 Over Edmonton Oilers (Monday @ 8:30pm est)
We are rolling with the Blackhawks at home as they look to get their first win and first home win of the season. Its been a tough start to the season for the Blackhawks as they started out in Prague, then had almost a week off before playing at home losing 5-4 to the Sharks, and then blowing a 2-1 lead to the Jets to force OT and lose in a shootout. Something to take out of the game against the Jets was that they manage to hold that potent offense to just 3 goals which was a step in the right direction. This is a big opportunity for them as they take on a red hot Oilers team who are undefeated and surprising everyone. Alot of things are going right for the Oilers right now as they are scoring on over 18% of their shots which simply isn't sustainable. They have also managed to comeback in all 5 games to get the win and simply don't think they will continue to be that fortunate. This is the last game of the 4 game road trip before the Oilers head home and go into one of the toughest buildings to face a motivated Blackhawks team looking to get their first win. The Blackhawks have the fire power upfront to keep up with the Oilers and I give them the edge at home. Oilers are 6-13 in the last 19 meetings. Blackhawks are 7-2 in their last 9 games as a home favorite of -110 to -150.

Detroit +4 -125
Denver +4 -115 (Thursday) (Bovada)
For Monday, I like Detroit. I'll accept the current +3.5 as it is a good line but I really want 4 and I'm willing to buy that number. at Bookmaker, +4 is -125 so I'll make that trade and get the number I want.

The Lions have won and covered the last four meetings with the Packers, and also three of the last four at Lambeau Field. But that was Mike McCarthy's Packers. There appears to be more urgency and attention to detail inspired into these 2019 Packers with new coach Matt LaFleur running the show on both sides of the ball. Packers break the streak, get the cover Monday.

The Lions have won the last four meetings against the Packers, including three of the last four at Lambeau. The Lions come into this game off a bye week so they should be more than prepared for this Monday night game. Matthew Stafford has tossed at least two TD passes in nine straight games versus Green Bay, and RB Kerryon Johnson is a force, giving the Lions some good balance offensively. The Packers come into this game a little banged up at key positions

Detroit has played really good football this season and got a surprising burst from its offense against Kansas City. In this game, the Lions won't need to score 30 points just to be "in it." If they get 30, they'll win it. Defensively, the Lions are really good, but so is Green Bay. The Packers are a bit more consistent on offense and have found the right formula for success, which is getting some help from the ground game.

The Lions have somehow won four straight against the Packers, and you know Aaron Rodgers will want to light this team up in primetime. However, assuming Davante Adams is either out or at far less than 100%, I'm not sure Green Bay can blow out a Detroit team that should be pretty healthy and has kept every game close this year. The Lions aren't that far away from being 4-0, and I think they can run all over this Packers front (30th in yards per rush allowed) and control the tempo of the game.
