Frederik Andersen gets another start in goal where he sits with a 6-2-2 record against the Blue Jackets and has won 3 starts in a row, following a rough start to the season he has rounded into form. The Jackets are on the road this time agains the team who they opened the season at home against losing 4-1 in Columbus. The Jackets since Wednesday have played home, road, home, and road tonight...traveling after each contest for the past 3 and the last 2 were losses in OT....against the Islanders and Blackhawks, a couple of teams with nowhere near the firepower of the Leafs at home tonight.
Andersen should only continue to get better tonight against a fatigued Blue Jackets squad traveling all over and now facing the toughest opponent they have during this stretch. The value on this spread play is excellent and while I'd prefer the ML here tonight...at nearly -200 it is a bummer of a value - Game: (35) Columbus Blue Jackets at (36) Toronto Maple Leafs

Andersen is the key here...but also at home and the BJs have been traveling constantly since last Wednesday's game and are much more fatigued...Andersen keeps getting better and is ready to shut them down...after the Leafs already beat the Jackets in their house on opening night. - Game: (37) Colorado Avalanche at (38) St. Louis Blues

The Avs continue to be the only team without a crooked number in the loss column and appear as legit as they come by this point in the young season. Grubauer has looked excellent and has matched Binnington's 6 starts but allowed 9 goals to JB's 12 goals thus far. Grubauer is 4 times better so far with regard to dSV% and GSAA, analytics we use mostly to evaluate the goaltenders, and also the 2 goalies in the crease tonight. This line really makes little sense and likely getting a team 7-0-1 at a dog price is more reflective of the fact they are visiting the reigning champs than anything to do with how the season has gone so far. Colorado has a goal differential of +10 and a PDO of 106.19, good for best in the NHL in both categories. The Blues have struggled immensely recently after winning 3 of the first 4 games in the title defense campaign, they are winless in the last 4 games including the last 2 games at home, getting outscored 9-5 in the 2 games in St. Louis and losing to teams in the Canucks and Habs, nowhere near as stellar a start to the season as Colorado.
I really think Grubauer shouldn't have that difficult of a time shutting down the meager looking Blues offense, and it likely the best goalie going at the moment, while Binnington will have a hard time with Burakovsky, Rantanen, and MacKinnon just to name a few in a very large Avalanche of attack.
