Temple followed off its signature win against Memphis with blowout losses to high-powered clubs SMU and Central Florida. But the Owls should get a favorable matchup Thursday against a South Florida club that has own three of its past four. The Bulls have had some success turning to dual-threat quarterbacks following the injury to opening-day starter Blake Barnett. But Temple's physical defense should limit the run game and could force turnovers on long down-and-distance scenarios. Look for the Owls to get back on track in this one.

The Chargers are finally getting healthy, and that showed last week when they dominated Aaron Rodgers and a very good Packers team. Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram are hard to contain off the edge. Meanwhile the offense looked much improved under new offensive coordinator Shane Steichen. My model says Los Angeles covers well over 50 percent of the time, so you're getting solid value with the Chargers. Lay it.

On offense, RB Melvin Gordon shed the rust from his long holdout, and new play-caller Shane Steichen deftly mixed run and pass plays. On defense, the Chargers turned their stadium into a hell-scape for QB Aaron Rodgers. Oakland, while sprinkling in wins, is still in semi-rebuilding mode. There are key injuries and there is a Key injury: Raiders DE Arden Key (foot) is out, damaging an already weak pass rush. The Chargers have fallen against the spread just twice in their last dozen away games.

They have played well for most of the season, but they weren't finishing strong like they have the past two weeks. It’s the time of year when Phillip Rivers plays well, and the Chargers have gone 8-1 against the spread in their last nine November games. San Diego has won and covered in the last four meetings, which all stayed under the total. I’m on the Chargers.

This line seems like a massive overreaction to the Chargers finally putting together one good game in a win over the Packers. As impressive as it was, they were thrashed statistically by the Bears despite getting a win the previous week and had two months of mediocre play to back that up. The Raiders on the other hand are getting better and better, especially on offense, where they've strung together five straight games against some winning teams (Colts, Packers, Texans). Throw in the home field edge and a lookahead line of Raiders -2.5, and I think this current number is way off.

Neither team is very good defensively. The Raiders have a terrific running back and tight end, their offensive line is doing a heckuva job. But their defense is horrible. Philip Rivers typically plays really well versus Oakland. Go Over.

This is a pivotal game in the AFC, as both teams still are in the hunt for a wild-card spot. Oakland's offense has been playing really well this season, displaying a good level of balance. And we've seen the Chargers pick up the pace a bit offensively in the last two weeks. The difference in this game will be defense, and right now, the Raiders still are having issues getting to the quarterback with any level of consistency. Los Angeles has been able to accomplish that with ease, thanks to the play of Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram.
