1-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 150.0 Robert Morris at Marshall (7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7)
Marshall lost one of the highest-scoring and most potent backcourts in college basketball to graduation. But that doesn't mean that they are going to slow down. They play at a high tempo, defense is optional, and they are going to put up a lot of shots. I think both teams are going to score well into the 70's and into the low 80's and I think this game will go 'over' by at least eight points.
2-Unit Play. Take #7118 Rutgers (-20.5) over Bryant (7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7)
This game is a physical mismatch and Rutgers should control this one from start to finish. Rutgers has a pretty well-rounded team and they should be much more competitive in the Big Ten this year. They have a solid eight-man rotation, led by Geo Baker, and this team also benefitted from extra practices that came with a trip to Spain this offseason. The Scarlet Knights aren't favored by this many points very often. So when they are you have to think it is for a reason.
3-Unit Play. Take #7120 Clemson (-18.5) over Presbyterian (7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7)
This game may be located under Added Games and Extra Games. I don't think there is any way that Clemson could play worse in this game than it did in its opener. They controlled the first half against Virginia Tech and then went ice cold in the second half, going 1-for-14 from 3-point range and losing to a bad Hokies team that will be at the bottom of the ACC. I think that Clemson will rebound here. And after that loss there should be a lot of focus to take down an overmatched opponent. Presbyterian has a new head coach and is replacing four of five starters, including its three best players. The last five meetings between these programs have been decided by 28, 33, 43, 21 and 17 points. I think it is an advantage that Clemson has already played a game and Presbyterian is playing their first game.
