CARRYING THE LOAD

The Indiana Pacers will be playing on the tail end of a back-to-back after losing 122-120 last night to the Hornets. Today, they host the Washington Wizards as 4-point favorites, despite the fact they’ll still be shorthanded.

With Victor Oladipo and Myles Turner out of the lineup, Jeremy Lamb is off to a great start offensively. Through five games he is averaging 17 points, 6.4 boards and 2.2 assists per game. He goes up against a Wizards team allowing an average of 27 points on 46.7 percent shooting, 3.4 made 3-point shots, 5.5 boards, and 5.4 dimes a game to opposing shooting guards. Expect a big night out of Lamb and bet Over his points, rebounds, assists total of 26.5.


ROAD WOES CONTINUE

The New York Knicks have only managed one win through their first seven games, and that was a 105-98 home victory versus the Bulls. Today, they travel on the road (where they are 0-4 SU) to Detroit to take on a Pistons team that have won eight of the last 10 meetings against the Knicks.

The Pistons are averaging 107.1 points a game on 46.7 percent shooting, and the Knicks are scoring less than 100 on a night averaging 99.6 on 41.6 percent shooting. With the Knicks off to a slow start and losing 13-of-14 games on the road dating back to last season, bet Detroit to cover as 4.5 point-favorites.


ACTIVE ON THE GLASS

The Orlando Magic travel to Dallas to take on the Mavericks as 7.5-point underdogs with the game total set at 208.5. Through seven games, Orlando's Nikola Vucevic is sitting right around his career average numbers in points per game and boards, but his three point percentage is down almost 15 percent from last season at 19.2 percent.

The Mavericks have done a good job defending opposing centers thus far giving up only an average of 18 points per game, but are surrendering a very high 17.1 rebounds per contest to them. Vucevic enters today averaging 10 boards a game, and has logged five offensive rebounds over his two most recent games. While Dallas has been vulnerable to second chance opportunities, surrendering 10.3 offensive boards a game. Bet Over Vucevic's rebounding total of 9.5.


LOCKING IT DOWN

The Utah Jazz are 2-point home favorites as they host the Philadelphia 76ers. Utah has won all three home contests this season and have held their opponents to 100 points or less in five of their first seven games. They have also won 12 of their most recent 13 games versus Eastern Conference opponents.

Although the Jazz are not a team that lights up the scoreboard on a nightly basis, this squad has been incredibly difficult to score on. The Jazz are surrendering the lowest points per game at home, holding opponents to 90.7. on 41.1 percent shooting. Look for their success versus Eastern Conference opponents to continue and take the Jazz on the moneyline.


MORE LOAD MANAGEMENT

The Los Angeles Clippers are 6-point home underdogs tonight versus the Milwaukee Bucks. That’s because they will once again be without Paul George (who has yet to suit up for L.A.) and Kawhi Leonard for load management. Last time Leonard sat out, the Clippers failed to eclipse 100 points - the first and only time this season.

Milwaukee has held opponents to 40.8 percent shooting from the floor, and 110.3 points per game. If the Clippers want to win this game, they'll have to do it on the defensive end. That is no small task, considering the Bucks are averaging a league high 123.3 points per game. With no Kawhi and the Bucks averaging 61.3 first half points per contest, bet Milwaukee Over their first half team total of 56.
