I'll take my chances here with the Nuggets as a small home favorite against the 76ers, who will be without starting point guard Ben Simmons. Philadelphia pulled off a miraculous cover after losing Simmons early in the 1st half of their last game at Utah, but there was definitely not the same flow to the offense once he went out.
With that said, I would have been on Denver at this price even if Simmons was playing. This is just a tough spot for the 76ers, who are playing their 4th straight on the road, as they have had to go to Portland to Phoenix to Utah and then finally here to Denver. It's also worth noting the 76ers have been traveling non-stop since the season started, as they have yet to play two straight at home. Give me the Nuggets -4!

My free play is on the Colorado Buffaloes in college basketball, as they're playing a non-conference game against fellow Pac 12 member Arizona State in China.

The Buffaloes are one of the favorites to win the Pac 12 this season. They return two first-team all-Pac-12 players in McKinley Wright and Tyler Bey, and personally I don't think there is another team in the league with more experienced top-end talent.

Coach Tad Boyle is entering his 10th season at the school and realistically has the type of personnel needed to bring the school its first regular-season conference championship since 1969.

Last year the Buffs ranked 131st in offensive efficiency, which is worth noting because 16 of the past 18 Pac-12 champs have had an offensive efficiency rating that ranks in the top 50. Well, in a 109-42 exhibition win on Wednesday, all 13 Buffaloes who played scored, with five reaching double figures led by 12 apiece from the trio of Bey, Maddox Daniels and Dallas Walton.[

Colorado shot 50 percent (42 of 84) from the field with nine 3-pointers, while limiting Tsinghua to 26 percent (16-62) overall and just a pair of triples.

Look for the Buffs to get the win and cover tonight.
