5-Unit Play. Take #612 Kentucky (-25) over Utah Valley (7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18)
1-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 134.5 Utah Valley at Kentucky (7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18)
I thought this number would be around 31. And I almost feel bad for Utah Valley tonight. I don't see anyway that this game isn't a 35- or 40-point blowout. The last time out, Kentucky suffered a shocking home upset as a 25-point favorite against Evansville. They were listless and frankly got outplayed. They've had to sit on that loss for nearly a week. There is no way that the Wildcats are going to come out flat again and I think that John Calipari is going to give them the whip. Utah Valley is actually coming off an upset win of its own at UAB. However, I think they are going to come back to earth. They have a new head coach, four new starters, and they simply don't have the size, speed or athleticism to keep up with a motivated Wildcats squad.
1-Unit Play. Take #7546 Oakland (-9.5) over Hartford (7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18)
Hartford lost its top seven players from last year's team. They are basically an entirely new team and I think that they are going to struggle on the road here. This is already their fourth road trip of the season, but this is the most difficult road venue they have played in. Oakland has a nice home court edge. And they should be prime bounce back position tonight after getting blasted by Maryland on Saturday. Better team, better conference, and home court edge all point toward the Grizz.
2-Unit Play. Take #7548 Notre Dame (-26.5) over Presbyterian (7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18)
I missed with Notre Dame on Saturday against Marshall. I expect them to bounce back here, though. They only shot 31.6 percent from the field and were just 7-for-28 from 3-point range. They aren't going to shoot that poorly here. The Irish beat Robert Morris by 35 and Howard by 29. And both of those teams may be better than Presbyterian. The Blue Hose lost by 34 at Clemson and lost at home by 22 to Morehead State. Again, I think that Notre Dame is better than both of those teams as well. I can see the Irish running it up here.
