SHELL GAME JOHNNY - I like this first-time-starter mainly because his morning workouts for this have been here at Mahoning Valley Race Course.

TEAM HUCKY - If you keep betting these sort of 'bridesmaid' types, you're going to be let down most every time. Has been beaten as the favorite the last two times. A repeat is probably in store. Hasn't been winning over the last month when made the morning-line favorite. Take a look at his record. GIFT OF OAK - No picnic to play any horse in a short distance event at 3/1 when he hasn't shown any successful endeavors in sprints in the last couple of months. CHOCOLATE PHILLING - He showed not much at all in the last event.

Has performed soundly recently in route races, posting a nifty 68 avg speed figure. Reason to like this gelding as he has in the saddle one of the best jocks using winning percentages over the last month. GEORGIA DEPUTY - This animal must be bet upon at the expected big odds. The drastic drop in competition can only help out this horse this time out. POPPY'S OATS - Will most likely go to the lead and should never look back. Has performed well as of late in route races, posting a nifty 59 avg speed fig.

SWISS SKYDIVER - This big closer looks to be the thoroughbred to make a move near the wire. Atop this thoroughbred on November 16th and Gaffalione is yet again in the irons this time. Using this rider/handler combination is a smart choice. Here is an appropriate handicapping angle that I've used many times before. Play a filly (like this one) getting Lasix for the 2nd time. The 92 most recent race speed rating looks mighty good in black and white. BAYERNESS - Got an unlucky trip her first time out. Hitting the track today, should do better if she stays out of any problems. This filly should improve after adding Lasix in the last race and getting it again today. Earnings per race is something that I believe can be a valuable handicapping aspect. This horse is ranked numero uno in this bunch.

LADY JENNEVIERE - The rating in the last race doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the class rating of today's affair. Mark this horse as a likely underpriced contender. BEAUTIFUL TRAUMA - Don't figure that this less than sharp equine is worth 6/1 in this event.
