After allowing an embarrassing 136 points to the TrailBlazers two nights ago, I know the OKC thunder, led by veteran Chris Paul, will get back to their stingy defensive ways this game against the youthful Pelicans. The Thunder play great defense only allowing 108 PPG, they also only score 107 PPG, which is great news for us. Jrue Holiday has been killing teams this season but that will come to a hault tonight as he has to go up against one of the best Point Guard defenders of all time in Chris Paul. I love this under becase of the match-ups, the Pelicans are going to have a tough time scoring outside of Brandom Ingram, and even Ingram could have a hard time with Steven Adams in the middle, excellent defender. OKC is in the bottom half of the league in 3pt shooting percentage but they are 11th in the league in defending the 3-ball. I love unders in what will be close games, tough defense will always be played in the 4th Q, just like our Lakers/Pelicans under two nights ago. When New Orleans three point shots are not falling the team can pretty much not find any other type of offense, they do not have any inside threats. I fully trust OKC to bounce back defensively after an embarrassing last outing. Take the under here in what will be a low scoring, boring game.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have looked amazing since they moved on from former head coach Mike Babcock, they have won 3 straight in relativley dominant fashion in the process of looking like a much deeper team with key players also meeting their expectations. The Maple Leafs have won 5 straight games over the Sabres and Buffalo has currently dropped 2 of their last 13 games overall. The Sabres started the season looking like a pretty good team but have since lacked any type of goal production and have struggled against high scoring teams like the Leafs. Not only are the leafs undefeated since Sheldon Keefe took over as the new bench boss, they are also putting up a whopping 4.67 goals GPG (goals per game) during that span with a huge emphasis on their recent game against the Detroit Red Wings when they put up a 6 spot and allowed 0 goals against. The oddsmakers are offering us tremendous value on a Leafs team that should continue to roll.

As far as goaltending goes, Michael Hutchinson is getting the nod for the Maple Leafs and I trust him to show up for tomorrow's game with a strong performance. Hutchinson did not look good in a Leafs uniform this year (4.44 GAA) but he is a proven winner and has proven he can be a strong NHL goaltender. A struggling Buffalo Sabres team will be a good team for him to build his confidence against.
