6 – MYSTERY GUEST (9/2)
Lightly-raced 3-year-old is improving with racing and can be expected to produce another forward move in his first start as a gelding in this modest maiden claimer for the powerful trainer/jockey team of J. Servis and I. Ortiz, Jr. Fresh from a career-top effort at Meadowlands and with three easy breezes since arriving in South Florida to indicate he’s fit and ready, the son of Giant’s Causeway looks ready to graduate at 9/2 on the morning line.
GULFSTREAM PARK – 9TH RACE
2 -- LURE HIM IN (9-2)
A winner in his debut over this track in early May in a maiden $50,000 sprint before being stopped on, the Florida-bred 2-year-old returns protected in a starter’ optional claimer for a stable that has superior stats with layoff runners. With the proper style for this one-turn mile and adding blinkers after appearing a bit green in his winning race, the son of Khozan is a first-time gelding with a healthy series of recent drills that should have him more than fit for a top effort. There’s some value here at or near his morning line of 9/2 both in the straight pool and in rolling exotic play.
