Analysis:
Miami finished the season terribly losing big scores to FIU and Duke and the fact is this season has not been what they wanted. They are Bowling but one has to wonder if there is much excitement playing In thiŽs Bowl in Shreveport. This team can score some but they are DEAD LAST in 3rd down efficiency partly because they are #119 in rushing offense. La Tech is very happy to be playing in their back yard and this will mark the 6th straight Bowl Appearance for them. They have won all 5 of the previous games and covered 4 of them. They have very good QB and RB Work and will challenge a strong Miami Defense through the air and on the ground. We know that the quality of opponents are not as strong for the Bulldogs as they are for the Canes but we see motivation very high for US and not for THEM. That is very key in any Bowl Match-up and frankly La Tech has most always been the DOG when playing in Bowls and they have done just fine. We LOVE these Points and so let's grab them and play..

There's a lot of ways this could play out, none of them with a higher scoring game. Let's start with Towns' availability. He's missed four straight games and in none of those games did Minnesota score more than 106 points, well below their season average. I don't think he'll play, but if he does I certainly wouldn't expect him to be 100% or not be limited with minutes. The Twolves have lost eleven straight, and this is the fourth game of a four game road trip, and when you add the Towns trade speculation I cannot expect a max effort here. With that said it'd be easy to like Sacramento here, but the opening number of -4 just seems a bit fishy. That will surely change with the announcement of whether Towns is playing or not, but it shouldn't effect this total. It may effect the number, but IMO not the outcome. Sacramento is 25th in the league in shots taken per game, and to beat Minnesota they're probably going to slow things even more. They are #2 in opponents FG's attempted per game. They are #1 in opponents fast break points. The bottom line here is that unless Minnesota is the one controlling the flow at both ends, AND KAT is 100% and playing tons of minutes, this ones stays under, too.
