The forecast calls for rain and temperatures in the low 30s, which should make it tough for Wake Forest's pass-heavy offense to operate. The Spartans rank 15th in the nation in rushing defense but have struggled vs. the pass. To make matters worse for the Demon Deacons, starting QB Jamie Newman (leg) is questionable. The Spartans averaged just 15.3 points over their last seven games and really struggled from the red zone.

Look for a back-and-forth affair in this one. I like the Cowboys' defense just a little bit more than the Aggies', which will allow them to cover.

TEXAS BOWL -- Give Mike Gundy a few weeks to game plan for a bowl, and the Oklahoma State coach will usually deliver a victory. Or, at the very least, a competitive contest. The Cowboys with the points is the value position against a Texas A&M club that weathered one of the most brutal schedules in college football history. Its losses came to Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Alabama and Clemson. The good news is, the Aggies beat who they are "supposed" to beat, and Oklahoma State fits that criteria. But it's a safe bet that the Cowboys make this a one-score game.

The Hawkeyes are one of the more steady programs in college football, but Slovis is playing much better than Iowa QB Nate Stanley. USC coach Clay Helton wants to make a statement to the team's fanbase, and there is no greater opportunity to do so than this one.

They'll play inspired now that their coach, Clay Helton, solidified his job with a strong close to the season.

Air Force will need to control the clock and keep the ball away from the Cougars' potent offense.

CHEEZ-IT BOWL -- Motivation will be a key factor here. If Washington State shows up disinterested, it will likely lose, but if it shows up wanting to play, this is a great matchup for the Cougars. Air Force's pass defense has not been strong this season, and while it's done a decent job of limiting big plays, Wazzu's offense isn't built around big plays in the passing game. It takes shots, but it's just as content going five yards at a time. I like the Cougars here in an upset.

The more preparation you have, the better. However, I don't think there's enough prep time to save the Cougars' defense, especially against an offense that requires an extreme level of discipline.

At first glance you look at this USC offense and think how does Iowa stay with them. USC scored 30 or more in 5 of their last 6 games. Freshman QB Slovis has been sensational this year and if not for JT Daniels getting hurt in the first game we may have never even seen him this year. But this Iowa team can play defense and although both teams had higher expectations than ending the season in the Holiday Bowl I have to figure this Bowl Game is a bigger disappointment to USC who will be making the short trip from LA to San Diego. I already felt Iowa would be the more motivated team but now with the passing of former HC Hayden Fry last week Iowa will be playing in his honor. Iowa owns the 14th ranked defense while USC has the 78th at YPP allowed. Big Coaching edge to Iowa as well as Ferentz over Helton is huge. PAC 12 have struggled in Bowl Games and I see that pattern continuing here. My Numbers have Iowa Winning 31-23 as Marco's Bowl Steamroller Play.
