    Rotation #105-106
    Bears -3 over Vikings
Minnesota is locked into the #6 seed, but even if they were not they are so limited on offense. This is a team that doesn’t have healthy running backs and the receivers are so predictable. All of the starters are going to be resting for the Vikings so who scares you to move the chains against the Bears? Chicago might indeed be brutal, but they still are better than the backups of any team in the NFL. One team is going to try to win the game. The other team is going to try to not get hurt for next week. Take the Bears.

    Rotation #111-112
    Cowboys -13 over Redskins
Dallas will be scoreboard watching today. If the Eagles lose and the Cowboys win they would head to the playoffs. Anything is possible in the wacky NFC East. The Redskins have all rookie targets at receiver and their best one in Terry McLaurin is out today. Case Keenum doesn’t have many options to throw the ball to. The real issue today is the Redskins Secondary. Take the top 4 corners backs and the top 8 safeties and there is only 1 who isn’t on the injury list or on IR. The Cowboys in a must win game are going to torch this defense. The Cowboys should win this game at home from wire to wire. Take Dallas.

    Rotation #121-122
    Patriots -16 over Dolphins
New England is trying for a first round bye, but more important still need to work on their offense. This is a get right and feel good game for Tom Brady and this offense. The Dolphins Secondary is a mess and should be exploited by Brady. Miami has been competitive the last few weeks against the bottom tier teams in the NFL. Today the Patriots Defense won’t be easy on them and this game should get out of hand like the one earlier this season. Tom Brady should be feeling good about himself and this team will get the extra rest heading into the playoffs. Take the Patriots.

    Rotation #123-124
    Packers -12.5 over Lions
Here is another get right game. Aaron Rodgers has not looked great in some games this year. Last week the Packers won without him throwing a TD pass. Today the Lions sport one of the worst defenses in the league and on offense are on their 3rd string QB and are handing the ball off to a guy who was on the practice squad and another guy just back from IR. Green Bay is a far superior football team and are playing for a better seed today. The Lions are playing for a better draft pick which means not playing at all. Take the Packers.

    NFL
    8:20 PM EST
    Rotation #129-130
    49ers -3 over Seahawks
I don’t care who the Seahawks are playing today. This team has been exposed on the offensive line and they had to bring in new running backs. This is not a good spot for Seattle. Last week the Cardinals pounded them in Seattle. The problem for Seattle is they draw the 49ers who are looking for the #1 seed. This is the most important game in the NFL this year and ironic enough it comes on the final game of the regular season. San Francisco can get the #1 seed with a win and the #5 seed with the loss. This 49ers team is too good and far too talented to slip up to a team with so many offensive issues. Take the 49ers.

      CLEVELAND @ CINCINNATI | 12/29 | 1:00 PM EST

There's a 100% chance of rain in Cincinnati on Sunday, according to weather.com (as of Friday), and the lowest that dips from 1-4 p.m. ET is an 85% chance. It's going to be wet, folks. Will the NFL's No. 20 (Browns) and No. 30 (Bengals) ranked offenses be able to score many points in such weather? Doesn't seem likely. Take the Under.

The Steelers haven't played in a single road game that went Over the total this season, and that was against teams playing their starters. The Ravens will rest Lamar Jackson, Mark Ingram, Marshal Yanda and others in this one, and while the total's set at only 37, Pittsburgh has played just one game in its last seven where the total went above 33. Take the Under.

      CHICAGO -3
      CHICAGO @ MINNESOTA | 12/29 | 1:00 PM EST
      FRI 12/27
The Vikings are reportedly sitting several starters, including Kirk Cousins, as they’re locked into the sixth seed. The line has moved enough that the Bears are now laying 3, but it seems unlikely that Sean Mannion vs. Chicago’s D in his second career start is going to go well for Minnesota. The Bears could finish the season on a high note at 8-8. Lay the points.

      PITTSBURGH @ BALTIMORE | 12/29 | 4:25 PM EST
      TUE 12/24
The Ravens have announced they’ll be sitting many of their starters, including Lamar Jackson, Mark Ingram, Earl Thomas, Marshal Yanda and Brandon Williams. Baltimore probably still will be starting the better QB in RG3 vs. Devlin Hodges, but the guess here is those aren’t the only Ravens starters who’ll sit (Mark Andrews, among others, could use rest after battling injuries), while the Steelers are desperate to win to have a shot at making the playoffs. Lay the points.

      TUE 12/24
The Jets have won five of their last seven games, and they’ll finish the season against a team that has nothing to play for, as the Bills are locked into the fifth seed. Buffalo has yet to say whether it will rest any starters, but even if it doesn’t, this isn’t an easy matchup by any stretch. The first meeting between these teams was just a one-point Bills win, and the Jets’ No. 2 run defense by DVOA matches up well here. Grab the point.

The Falcons took half the season to figure things out, but they’ve played like a playoff team in the second half, winning five of their last seven, two of which came at San Francisco and at New Orleans. They’ve won and covered their last three games and covered six of their last eight. That type of play saved coach Dan Quinn’s job. I’m on the Falcons to close out the season strong.

The Ravens are expected to rest two key players on each side of the ball, including Lamar Jackson, which makes Robert Griffin III the starting QB. But I like the Ravens system on both sides to continue to be motivated as they ride an 11-game win streak. The problem with the Steelers, who can make the playoffs with a win and a Titans loss, is that their offense is horrendous because of bad QB play. The Ravens defense will be just as tough as everyone else has been against Pittsburgh. The Ravens are the play.

Arizona has gone 6-1-1 ATS in it last eight road games, but this is a different spot here with quarterback Kyler Murray having hamstring issues. If Murray plays, he’s not the same threat. And if he doesn’t play, backup Brett Hundley is much to speak of. The Rams have won and covered in their last five meetings against the Cardinals, and should be primed to show the rest of the NFC that they got lucky not to face them in the playoffs.

The last four meetings between the Broncos and the Raiders have seen Oakland cover and the game stay under the total. But let’s be real about the Raiders right now. With running back Josh Jacobs doubtful and his team going 1-4 straight up in its last five and 1-5 against the spread in its last six... the Raiders are a tough play. They can make the playoffs with all kinds of scenarios happening, but the biggest one is Oakland actually winning this game -- and I don’t see it. This is the revived Broncos with rookie quarterbackDrew Lock, and they get the job done.

The NFC West Championship game is the most important of the week and holds the key to who gets the home-field path throughout the playoffs among four teams. What strikes me most with the Seahawks, beyond their current form with no covers in their last three, is the demise of their massive home-field edge which coincides with the dismantling of the Legion of Boom. I like the 49ers to take control of the game quickly and the final margin to be in double-digits. 49ers to cover.

The Bills aren't going to risk injury to their key players with nothing to gain in terms of playoff seeding, so I expect them to treat this like a preseason game. That won't be the case for the Jets, who can finish the second half 6-2 with a win and then blame the sluggish start on injuries and the schedule. With this line close, I think we have to fade the team that will be looking ahead to next week and hop on the Jets.

It's likely this game is going to mean nothing for the Texans, and with Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins on the injury report, there's no reason to play them in this game. The Titans, who need this win to make the playoffs, have been playing well despite back-to-back losses, outgaining their opponents in each. The Titans offense has been one of the league's best in the second half with Ryan Tannehill at the helm, and they should carve up a Texans defense that has been pretty bad when it actually is going all out to win.

You want to fade double-digit road favorites in Week 17 (2-9 ATS despite being 9-2 straight up), and with the Packers coming off a dominant Monday night win in a game to lock up the division title, we could see them take the foot off the gas a little in this matchup. I certainly don't think the Lions will win, but you can't lay this many points with the Packers considering their underlying stats don't match their 12-3 record. Incredibly, the Packers actually have a negative yards per play differential on the year. This will be lower-scoring game where the Packers win but don't cover.

The premise here is simple: Even in must-have games against bad teams, this is a ton of points to lay on the road. The value here is going to be on the Panthers, even with how poorly they've played. The Saints do struggle against the spread when on the road in these outdoor spots in December, but the key trend to know is this: When a road team is favored by double digits in Week 17, that road favorite is 9-2 straight up but 2-9 against the spread. I certainly expect the Saints to win this game, but I imagine it'll be a lower-scoring game with Carolina staying inside the number.

I was hoping I'd be able to get the Ravens at +3, but it doesn't look like it's going to get that high, so let's take the Ravens here. If Baltimore was going all-out in this game, the line would be at least Ravens -14, and I don't think people would be rushing to bet the Steelers. Is the dropoff from the few starters who will rest to their backups so large that the line should swing all the way to the Steelers being road favorites? I'll answer my question with a question: Do you trust Duck Hodges on the road against one of the league's best defenses? The Ravens backups take care of business and eliminate the Steelers from playoff contention.

                              6-Unit Play: Take 104 Bengals +3 over Browns (1 p.m., Sunday, December 29)

I'm taking the points with the Bengals on Sunday. Well, Cincy has nothing left to LOSE for, having wrapped-up the #1 pick in the NFL draft. Now we have a combination of a team in revenge (Cincy), playing hard, with a starting QB (Dalton), in what's a virtual audition for a job elsewhere next season, facing a disappointed and dysfunctional opponent. The Bengals lost the first meeting, 27-19, with the difference coming on a pick-6. Cincy out-gained Cleveland 451-333 and finished with a 27-17 first downs advantage. The Browns have covered just 3 of their last 11 games overall, and they're on a 0-5 ATS slide on the road. The Browns have lost two in a row, allowing 69 points in the process and they're 4-15 ATS after losing at least two straight games. Four of the Bengals' last five losses came by one possession and they beat the Jets 22-6 in between. I expect another win here. I'm taking the points with the Bengals on Sunday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

                              3-Unit Play: Take 116 NY Giants +4.5 over Eagles (4:25 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 29)

I'm taking the points with the Giants on Sunday. This is one of our favorite late season spots -- playing against teams in Philly's situation. In fact, favorites off an outright win the previous week as a dog have lost 10 in a row ATS and have covered just 5 of the last 31 against teams with a losing record, provided the favorite is playing .510 to .600 football on the season. These teams are obviously not elite level teams and have been rock-solid play-against teams for several seasons. The Eagles are banged-up at WR and TE and the defensive backfield is also nursing injuries. The Giants are healthy on offense with Saquon Barkley tearing up the division when he isn't hampered by injuries and with Daniel Jones tossing 5 TD passes last week. We won't be shocked if the Giants win outright but our play is to take the points. New York plus the points on Sunday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

                              3-Unit Play: Take 117-118 Under 38 Steelers / Ravens (4:25 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 29)

I'm playing the Under between the Steelers & Ravens on Sunday. Pittsburgh's offense has been weak ever since Big Ben got injured and they're banged-up at QB even more this week. Mason Rudolph is out, Duck Hodges isn't 100%. There are more key injuries to the Steeler offense, including RB James Conner and C Maurkice Pouncey. Baltimore will bring it on defense, while several key offensive players will sit this one out, including Lamar Jackson (RG-III will reportedly get the start). With offense limited for both sides, we'll play the Under between the Steelers & Ravens on Sunday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
