I'll take my chances here with Detroit laying what most are going to see as a big number, especially given they are down 4 of their top players in Markieff Morris, Blake Griffin, Luke Kennard and Reggie Jackson. Simply put, this is a big time play against the Cavs, who I think are going to be a no show in this one.
Cleveland head coach John Beilein is making headlines for the wrong reason, as he basically called his team a "bunch of thugs" in a recent film review. He tried to retract the statement saying he meant slugs instead of thugs. While some players may be able to just shake off the comments, I got a feeling a number of guys aren't going to be happy with his words and are going to express that by not playing hard in this game.
I think this could get really really ugly and it's why I think it's worth a shot here to lay the big number with Detroit at home. Give me the Pistons -7!

Both teams have injury concerns and will be missing key contributors this evening. Prior to Tuesday night’s game versus Detroit, the Pistons had played well defensively except for a pair of games against San Antonio and the Clippers where they gave up 132 and 126 points. But the Spurs are the 9th most efficient offense in the NBA while the Clippers are 4th. The Cavaliers offense isn’t anywhere close to that as they rank 27th out of 30 teams a 1.052 points per possession. As far as the Cavs are concerned they recently the Cavs gave up 121 to OKC who is 9th in OEFF their last five games and playing well on the offensive end of the floor. In another game the Cavs gave up 118 to Minnesota but the Wolves play fast ranking 8th in pace of play. Tempo won’t be a concern here as these teams rank 19th (Pistons) and 23rd (Cavs) in pace of play or possessions per game. Both teams field goal attempts are trending down their last five games compared to their season averages which means less scoring opportunities for both. On December 3rd when these two teams last met the Pistons put up 127 points on 54% shooting but had Blake Griffin and Morris in the lineup (both out tonight) who combined for 36-points. On Tuesday these two teams combined for 228 total points but there were plenty of anomalies which impacted the end result. In this quick home-and-home set we expect both defenses to be better and predict a very low scoring game.

The Michigan State Spartans are starting to get too much respect from oddsmakers now. They have won seven straight and have covered four straight coming in. It’s time to ‘sell high’ on them off two straight home covers over Illinois and Michigan in Big Ten play.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers have been really impressive of late and have shown they can hang with a team the caliber of Michigan State. The Gophers are 4-1 SU & 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall with their only loss coming on the road in overtime to Purdue. They beat Ohio State by 13, Oklahoma State by 20, FIU by 27 and Northwestern by 9 in their four wins during this stretch.

I really like the Rockets as a small road favorite against the Thunder. This isn't just a game between two of the top teams in the west. It's a lot more than that, as it marks the first time that Russell Westbrook will play at Chesapeake Energy Arena since he was traded in the offseason.
These two teams did play earlier this season in Houston, but it's just different going back home to the team you made your mark with. Westbrook already plays with a ton of energy and he's going to be amped up big time and the Rockets gave him last night's game in Atlanta off to make sure he's a full go here. The entire team should feed off of his energy.
Oklahoma City has been playing better of late, winning 10 of their last 12, but they have had two key guys go down of late. First it was backup big man Nerlens Noel and now it's 3rd leading scorer Danilo Gallinari that is out. Gallinari is a huge blow, as he's easily their best 3-point shooter (shooting 39% and averaging 2.9 made 3's a game).
Rockets are also 5-0 ATS last 5 road games vs a team with a winning home record and have covered 8 of their last 11 trips to OKC. Take Houston!

The LA Kings took a 2-1 loss to the Dallas Stars on Wednesday. The bookmakers are not giving the Kings much of a chance here at Vegas the following night, but we can note that LA is 1-1 as a dog of +200 or more on the season after winning 4-3 in Boston on December 17. The Knights meanwhile are 3-2 as -220 favorites, a winning record that would have lost backers money.
While the Kings dropped the last three contests of their four-game homestand, I think a trip to Vegas will light a fire in the side and lift the spirit. While there's good value on the Kings to win this one outright, the puckline is showing even better value IMO.
