You’re definitely paying a tax to bet on the Dayton Flyers right now. They are off to a 14-2 start this season and ranked No. 13 in the country. And now they are laying 8.5 points to the defending Atlantic 10 champion VCU Rams tonight. It’s time to ‘sell high’ on the Flyers.
Obi Toppin is one of the best players in the country for Dayton. He averages 19.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game while shooting 63% from the floor. He limped off the court last game against UMass and came back to the bench in a walking boot. While he’s expected to play tonight, he won’t be near 100% with the ankle injury.
VCU is coming off an upset loss to Rhode Island as 8.5-point home favorites. There’s a good chance they were looking ahead to this game against Dayton, so I think it’s a good time to ‘buy low’ on them off that loss. The Rams are still a contender to win the Atlantic 10 again this year and are 12-4 with their only four losses all coming by 10 points or fewer to Purdue, Tennessee, Wichita State and Rhode Island.
This has been a very closely-contested series for years. In fact, each of the last four meetings and nine of the last 10 have been decided by 7 points or less. That’s a big reason why I believe the Rams are showing tremendous value tonight. Bet VCU Tuesday.

They are having a hard time here of late meeting expectations because the betting public has been all over them once again this season due to that record. They are just 2-4 ATS in their last six games overall. The Knicks just upset the Heat as 7.5-point home dogs and are getting healthy with only Marcus Morris missing from the lineup now. This is the first game back home following a four-game road trip for the Bucks on the West Coast, and I like to fade teams in this situation. New York is 41-22 ATS in its last 63 games revenging a blowout home loss by 20 points or more. Give me the Knicks.

I'll take my chances here with the Jayhawks rebounding from that ugly loss at home against Baylor with a blowout win on the road against Oklahoma. Kansas is an elite team and I just really like taking top tier teams off a loss and history is definitely on our side with KU, as the Jayhawks are 41-19-3 (68%) ATS in their last 63 off a SU loss.
Oklahoma comes in at 11-4, but I just don't think they got the good here to keep this close. After an impressive road win over a struggling Texas team, Sooners got annihilated 68-81 at ISU. The same Cyclones team Kansas recently beat on the road by a score of 79-53.
My biggest thing here is Sooners are a team that want to get up and down the floor and I just don't think that's a recipe for success when facing a talented team like the Jayhawks. When Kansas has lost this season it's because teams lock them down defensively. When KU has scored 70 or more points they are 11-0 with 10 of the 11 wins coming by at least 12 points.
Oklahoma has also not benefited from homecourt play in terms of exceeding expectations, as they are 0-6 ATS last 6 at home. Sooners are also 7-21 ATS last 3 seasons after 15+ games when facing a team with a winning record. Give me Kansas -6!
