JUDITHS COUGAR - As the only speedy sort in the race, I expect this gelding to be long gone. COMBAT RIBBON - Diaz and Sacco perform well when they are put together. It's hard to beat a +48 ROI for a rider and trainer. FORTUNE FOUND - Trainer Hennig moves this horse down in class to face weaker company. Look for a nice effort given this drop. Rider jumped on this colt's back for the first ride on December 13th. Should know the animal even better this time around. Forgive the out of the money finish on the off track in the last race. Without a sloppy track, has a fair chance in today's race.

PANSHIR - When Cruz and Silva join forces on horses the win percent has been tremendous at 31. I predict an ideal trip. Stalk the early speed, and pounce on the turn. YUMA THURMAN - Although it's been awhile, this mare won at a higher class level and at today's distance. I think she could run back to that old form today. Trainer, Fulmer, has been deliberate with this mare off the layoff. Look for a solid effort today. Just missed hitting the board on Jan 1st at Turf Paradise. With decent morning line odds today, she has my interest.

FELDY - Have to be particularly concerned about the recent trend and awesome speed fig in the January 1st race. It was this mare's best at that distance and this one should bounce today. LIEUTENANT MARGIE - Ran irregularly on January 1st. Be leery this time out. You always figure that this horse has a shot to be the victor, but she falters regularly. SHE GOT AWAY - In the last affair this pony finished eighth. Doesn't look good for her chances this time around. Disappointing speed figure last time around the track at Turf Paradise at 4 1/2 furlongs. Don't think this less than sharp equine will improve too much in today's race.

I back CRAIGGER here. Could provide positive gains based on very good recent speed figures with an average of 64. Horses who have been prepared to race at this distance and surface by Demasi have shown sharp results lately. Should come out very solid - I have liked the way this gelding has moved sharply to the lead recently. HIDE THE RANSOM - Looks very strong against this field and ought to be one of the front-runners. Ran a strong last race. AFLEET MELODY - With a quite good 62 speed rating last time out, will surely be a factor in this contest. Has very good Equibase Speed Figures and has to be considered for a bet in this competition.
