My pick in this race is KANSAS KIS. Always good to invest in a trainer with this kind of quite good win percentage - 19 percent - at this distance & surface. Have to play this filly with the reliable earnings per start in dirt sprint contests. Is a solid choice - given the 76 speed fig from her most recent race. HENNI PENNY - Has to be carefully examined here on the basis of the numbers in the speed department alone. Had one of the best Equibase Speed Figures of this group in her last contest. FRENCH CAFE - Make a note that this horse runs with second time Lasix today. Maker has one of the strongest winning percentages in this group with entries running at this distance and surface.

ARTIES GAME - This speedball should profit from this shorter trip. Ran against 'open' company last time around the track, in with state breds today. I like this horse. Should be familiar with this class level since he ran against the same type last out at Delta Downs.

DOUBLE PRIORITY - This gelding hasn't had any in the money results in sprint affairs in the last 60 days. Hasn't been coming close at all lately. BEFOREHAND - Should have at least hit the board in the last sixty days in a sprint clash to be worth a shot at short odds in a sprint. Never really did much at all in the last race on December 19th. Hard to play in today's race. When checking today's class rating, he will have to earn a better speed figure than in the last race to vie in this dirt sprint. FIRST METAL COUNT - Today's race is 6 furlongs. Hasn't finished in the money in a sprint event in the last couple months. Not the best of signs. This animal hasn't been in the money in either of his last couple of efforts.

TOO MANY CORONAS - This gelding is in excellent form right now. Ran fourth last time around the track and comes back quickly. Running over a familiar track, where he has won multiple times before, I have to put this one at the top of my list of contenders. Finished outside the top 3 last out at Charles Town, but was within five lengths of the winner. Opening at 6/1 makes me think he's got a chance. GOOD GENES - Rider jumped on this gelding's back for the 1st attempt on December 7th. Should be in tune with the animal even better in this race. Taking a big class drop in class figure points from his Dec 7th race at Charles Town. Based on that key piece of info, I will give this one the edge.

TWINSANITY - This racer hasn't been on the track since Dec 2nd. Not even any drills. Hard to put any money on this gelding on the win end. Likes to finish in the money though. CAT COME HOME - Tough to put your cash on the win end of any horse that finishes second and third as often as this participant does. Don't think this steed will do much running in today's event. That last speed rating was common when compared with today's class rating. SYNERGY UNBRIDLED - Most of the time I need a sprinter to have some recent good showings in short distance affairs in order to play him. This horse ran a somewhat easily forgotten speed figure last time out. He shouldn't show signs of improvement and will likely suffer defeat in today's event running that figure.
