      Wizards vs. Hawks
      Over 240.5

The Washington Wizards 15-29 (22-21-1 ATS) take on the 11-35 (21-25 ATS) Atlanta Hawks on Sunday in Atlanta. The line currently favors the Hawks -1.5 and the Over/Under is set at 240.5. Injuries of note for Washington Wall, Wagner & Hachimura are OUT, for Atlanta Len, Parker, and Bembry are out.

The Wizards come into this one winners of 2 of their last 3 and last game out shot 55% from the floor in a 124-112 win at Cleveland Thursday. On the other side Atlanta took down the Los Angeles Clippers 102-95 on Wednesday after rallying from 21 points down.

Noone on Atlanta is going to slow Bradley Beal down. He's averaging 34PPG over the last 3 games and went for 36 on 15/22 shooting with 8 helpers Thursday. On the flip side noone on Washington is going to slow Trae Young down. He had 26 points and 16 assists on Friday.

Throw in Collins, Reddish, Bryant, Teague, and Bertans, and there will be plenty of offense on display. The Wizards are averaging 114.9PPG (5th in the NBA) the Hawks are averaging 107.8 PPG (23rd in the NBA).

The total has gone OVER in 4 of Washington's last 6 games, plus the total has gone OVER in 14 of Washington's last 20 games when playing on the road against Atlanta, and the total has gone OVER in 5 of Atlanta's last 6 games.

The last time these two teams played Washington won 111-104 on January 10th, I'm expecting a MUCH higher scoring game Sunday.

      Play the OVER 240.5.

      Good Luck, Razor Ray.

              Xavier vs. Creighton
              Creighton-5

The NCAAB Comp Play for Sunday is on Creighton at 4:00 eastern. The Blue Jays are off a nice win at Depaul and already beat Xavier on the road this year. They have won 13 of 14 as a home favorite which is significant as Xavier has failed to cover 18 straight as a regular season road dog and 9 of 12 off a win as well as 4 of 5 vs winning home teams. Creighton mauled the Musketeers by 22 here last season and has covered 6 of 8 off a win and 40 of 59 long term on Sundays. Play on Creighton. For the Free play today go with Creighton. STEPHEN DeANGELO

How about that super easy 3♦ complimentary winner on USC on Saturday? I’m now on a 7-3 roll with basketball freebies. For Sunday’s, we’ll head back to the college hardwood and swallow the chalk with fourth-ranked San Diego State, which takes its unbeaten record to Vegas to battle UNLV.

Normally, I’m not a fan of laying a significant amount points with a road team, especially in a conference game. But San Diego State continues to prove with each passing game that its Top 5 ranking and 20-0 record are no fluke. Not only are the Aztecs a perfect 9-0 in conference play, but three of four victories came on the road—and all three were convincing: 79-57 at Colorado State, 77-68 at Utah State, 72-52 at Wyoming, 64-55 at Fresno State.

True, SDSU failed to get the cash in its last two outings, both at home—17-point win over Wyoming as a 22½-point favorite; 13-point win over Nevada as a 13½-point chalk. But the fact remains the Aztecs’ last 10 wins have come by at least nine points (including eight double-digit routs). In fact, only two opponents have lost to the Aztecs by fewer than nine points: BYU (76-71 home loss back on Nov. 9, the second game of the season) and San Jose State (a shockingly close 59-57 loss at SDSU on Dec. 8).

As for UNLV, it is definitely playing much better of late under first-year coach T.J. Otzelberger, going 7-2 in over the last nine contests. And the Runnin’ Rebels are a solid 6-2 in Mountain West play. But this is a different animal that they’re facing today in SDSU. And it’s not like the Rebels have thrived in the underdog role: Take out a 70-53 home upset of Utah State (as a 7-point pup), and UNLV is 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS when catching points this season.

Finally, the Aztecs have completely owned this rivalry of late, winning nine of the last 10 meetings (including the last four in a row) while going 7-1-2 ATS (4-0 ATS in the last four).

                      MITCHELL NEWMAN

Sunday comp play is the undefeated Aztecs to stay undefeated with the road romp in Sin City against UNLV.

San Diego State is 20-0 on the season and they have won each of their first 9 conference games. Yes, the Aztecs have seen the double-digit impost bite their backers over their last pair of wins, but when priced as the single-digit favorite this year, State has gone 6-0 against the spread.

The Running Rebels have shown improvement with straight up wins in 7 of their last 9 games to move their season mark above .500 at 11-10, but they really haven't sniffed a win against their conference rivals in some time.

San Diego State has reeled off 4 straight wins and covers in this series and stand at 9-1 straight up the last 10 times the teams have played one another with a 7-1-2 spread mark in those 10 contests.

The Rebs feature the # 1 offense in Mountain West, but the 'Tecs counter with the # 1 defense in the conference and that defense will simply force the turnover-laden Rebels into turnover after turnover this afternoon at the Thomas and Mack Center.

It's unlikely the Aztecs blow through the regular season without a loss, but a loss today to the Rebels seems even more unlikely to me.

Lay it with the 20-0 visitor.

                        Clippers vs. Magic
                        Magic+4½

These teams faced each other at LA recently. Playing at home and catching the Magic in the second game of a b2b set, the Clippers won big. Today, however, the Magic are rested and playing at home. Playing with recent revenge, I expect their best effort. Over the past couple of seasons, Orlando is 7-5-1 ATS when attempting to avenge a road loss of 20 or more points. During that span, the Magic are also 2-0 ATS when playing a game, after having lost back-to-back outright losses when they'd been favored at home. The Clippers have been on the road for awhile now and they head back to LA to face the Lakers after this. Consider grabbing the points.

                            David Schwab

The Big Ten takes center stage this Sunday for betting college basketball with a trio of intriguing matchups.

The early start Sunday afternoon features the No. 17 Maryland Terrapins on the road against Indiana Hoosiers. Later in the afternoon, the No. 11 Michigan State Spartans will travel to Minneapolis to face the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The betting action wraps up early Sunday night with the Ohio State Buckeyes facing the Northwestern Wildcats in Evanston, Illinois.

No. 17 Maryland Terrapins at Indiana Hoosiers
                            (CBS, 1 p.m. ET)

Opening Odds: Indiana -1, Total 132

                            Betting Matchup

Monday’s 77-66 road victory against Northwestern as a 7 ½-point favorite lifted Maryland to 5-3 straight-up and against the spread in Big Ten play. It has now covered in five of its last six games with the total staying UNDER in five of those contests. The Terrapins are 15-4 SU overall and 10-9 ATS. Jalen Smith ended Monday’s game with a career-high 25 points. Senior guard Anthony Cowan Jr. leads the team in scoring with 15.4 points per game. He added 12 points to the winning cause.

Indiana is riding high at 15-4 SU and 5-3 in conference play with Thursday’s 67-63 victory over Michigan State as a four-point home underdog. The Hoosiers have won four of their last five games after losing to Maryland 75-59 on Jan. 4 as 6 ½-point underdogs on the road. They are 3-1 ATS in their last four outings and the total has stayed UNDER in seven of the last eight games. Joey Brunk scored 14 points on Thursday. Freshman forward Trayce Jackson-Davis (14.1 PPG) added 12 points as Indiana’s leading scorer this year.

                            Betting Trends

-- The Terrapins are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games played in January but they fall to just 1-5 SU in their last six road games.

-- The Hoosiers have won 12 of their last 13 home games SU but their ATS record in their last five Sunday games is 1-4.

-- Including the earlier win this season, Maryland has won three of the last four meetings SU with the series tied 2-2 ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in five of the last seven games between the two teams.

No. 11 Michigan State Spartans at Minnesota Golden Gophers
                            (FOX, 3 p.m. ET)

Opening Odds: Michigan State -3.5, Total 140.5

                            Betting Matchup

The loss to Indiana dropped the Spartans into a tie for first place in the conference standings with Illinois at 6-2. They are 14-5 SU overall. Michigan State is still a profitable 6-2 ATS in its last eight games with the total staying UNDER in the last four games. One of those wins (SU and ATS) was against Minnesota on Jan.9 in a comfortable 74-58 victory as a 12-point home favorite. The total stayed UNDER 145 points. Senior guard Cassius Winston (18.0 PPG) scored 17 points against Indiana after combining for just 16 points in his previous two starts.

Thursday’s 62-59 road upset over Ohio State as 8 ½-point underdogs raised the Golden Gophers to 5-4 (SU and ATS) in conference play. They are 11-8 SU overall with a 12-6-1 record ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in three of their last five games. Minnesota is averaging 72.2 PPG led by sophomore center Daniel Otura’s 19.7-point scoring average. He was held to 11 points on Thursday night after exceeding that average in three of his previous four starts. Otura had 22 points with 11 rebounds in the first game against the Spartans.

                            Betting Trends

-- The Spartans have failed to cover ATS in their last five road games and the total has stayed UNDER in 11 of their last 12 January games. -- The Golden Gophers have won their last six home games SU and they are 8-2 ATS in 10 games at home this season. The total has stayed UNDER in 11 of 19 games on the year. -- Michigan State extended its winning streak against Minnesota to four games (SU and ATS) with the 16-point victory earlier this month. The total has stayed UNDER in the last six matchups. The Spartans are 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

Ohio State Buckeyes at Northwestern Wildcats
(Big Ten Network, 6:30 p.m. ET)

Opening Odds: Ohio State -6, Total 132.5

                            Betting Matchup

Things have gone from bad to worse for the Buckeyes with Thursday’s loss. They have lost six of their last seven games SU while going a costly 0-7 ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in five of those contests. Ohio State falls to 12-7 SU and 2-6 in Big Ten play. Offensively, the team has scored fewer than 60 points in five of those last seven games as opposed to its 73.2-point scoring average on the year. Junior guard Kaleb Wesson (14.0 PPG) had just two points in 32 minutes in the latest loss.

The Wildcats’ (6-12 SU, 7-10-1 ATS) lone victory in conference play against seven losses was a 62-57 home win against Nebraska on Jan. 11. They failed to cover as 5 ½-point favorites as part of a 4-4 ATS record in the Big Ten. The total has gone OVER in three of Northwestern’s last five games. In Monday’s 11-point loss to Maryland, freshman forward Miller Kopp scored 16 points with four rebounds. He leads the team in scoring with 13.3 PPG.

                            Betting Trends

-- The Buckeyes are 1-8 ATS in their last nine road games and the total has stayed UNDER in nine of their last 12 January games.

-- The Wildcats have failed to cover in seven of their last eight home games. The total has stayed UNDER in 14 of the last 20 games played in the month of January.

-- Ohio State has the SU 8-2 edge in the last 10 meetings but this series is tied 5-5 ATS. The Buckeyes have covered in four of their last six games against Northwestern with the total staying UNDER in the last three matchups.
