3-Unit Play. Take #602 Villanova (-3.5) over Butler (7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21)
After a brilliant start to the season that vaulted them into the Top 5, Butler has started to spin out a bit. They have lost each of their last two games, including a blowout loss at DePaul on Saturday, and now face one of their toughest games yet at Villanova. The Wildcats have won 10 of 11 and are wrapping up a four-game homestand. They didn't play particularly well against Connecticut on Saturday and struggled with UConn's size. Butler isn't able to beat them up the same way. The Wildcats have dominated this series recently, going 4-0 SU and ATS in the last four meetings and going 7-3 SU in the last 10. This looks like two teams going in opposite directions. I'll go with the hotter team with the home court edge.

2-Unit Play. Take #606 Purdue (-6) over Illinois (7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21)
Purdue is not a good team. However, I think that this is a good spot for them. The Boilermakers are completely different when they play on their home court. Just ask Michigan State and Virginia, two teams that Purdue blew out by a 29 points apiece. This one won't quite be that ugly. Illinois has won four straight. But three of those games were at home. Illinois has not been very good away from home all season long. And when you throw in the fact that Purdue has a clear revenge motivation for a 26-point loss in Champagne on Jan. 5 this one sets up well for the Boilermakers.

1-Unit Play. Take #612 LSU (-2.5) over Florida (7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21)
This could be a little bit of a letdown spot for Florida. That 69-47 final score in their win over Auburn on Saturday wasn't indicative of what kind of game that actually was. And now that they are forced to on the road I think that they would struggle tonight. I think it is doubtful that LSU is going to shoot 25% from the field like Auburn did (14-for-55) and they likely won't go 4-for-23 from 3-point range. LSU has very quietly won six straight. They've won a lot of close games during that streak and they are going to hit a wall at some point. But I think they can steal one more here.

2-Unit Play. Take #614 Kentucky (-11.5) over Georgia (7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21)
The Wildcats aren't going to be taking the Bulldogs lightly in this one. Georgia took Kentucky to the limit in Athens on Jan. 7. They won't forget about it. Georgia has lost three of its last four games and this team has been terrible on the road this season. I think the Wildcats are going to have a better idea of how to defend Anthony Edwards seeing him a second time. And Kentucky is kind of due for a blowout win at home. The Cats are coming off a solid road win at Arkansas last time out and I think that this young team is starting to gain a bit of confidence and momentum after winning five of six.

2-Unit Play. Take #627 Oklahoma State (+6) over Iowa State (8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21)
I actually think that Oklahoma State is going to win this game outright. I know that's a bold call on a team that's been as bad as the Cowboys lately. Oklahoma State has lost five straight games both SU and ATS. They've only won two games in their last 10 and most of those losses have been completely and total blowouts. However, they've played a pretty brutal schedule. And I just think they are due to put something together at some point. Iowa State hasn't been any better than the Cowboys. They've lost five of their last six and six of eight overall. Nothing they've done in the last several weeks instills much confidence that they are going to get a blowout win here. I think that Oklahoma State is the better team. They just haven't played well. I think they will pick up their first win of league play here.

2-Unit Play. Take #629 Wake Forest (+9.5) over Clemson (8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21)
This line seems a bit thick on a Tigers team that doesn't exactly run opponents out of the gym. In fact, they only have two wins by more than seven points this year versus Top 150 opposition. Wake Forest is dumb. They play dumb basketball and they are a turnover waiting to happen. But they have also played well against teams that are a lot tougher than Clemson. I don't think that Clemson has the firepower to turn this one into a blowout.

2-Unit Play. Take #636 Marquette (-8) over St. John's (9 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21)
There is not a lot to like about this Marquette team. But they do still have Markus Howard and they are still pretty damn solid at home. St. John's is finally coming back down to earth and they have lost five of their last six games. They are in a clear letdown spot after nearly knocking off Seton Hall at home on Saturday, and I think the Johnnies are going to struggle here in their road trip to Marquette and DePaul.

2-Unit Play. Take #639 Mississippi (+6.5) over Tennessee (9 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21)
Ole Miss is another team that I just think is due. They've lost five straight games. But, again, the game in which they played poorly was at Texas A&M. I think the Rebels are a bit desperate right now and it should come out in their play tonight. Tennessee is not good. They are in a clear rebuilding season and the loss of Lamont Turner was pretty much a death knell for their season. Over the last two months they have exactly one win over a Top 150 team by more than seven points. The Vols also have a date with Kansas on deck here and they may be looking past the Rebels in this one. This one feels like too many points.

3-Unit Play. Take #643 San Jose State (+11.5) over New Mexico (10 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21)
New Mexico is completely off the rails right now. They have a ton of drama going on inside and outside the locker room. J.J. Caldwell is suspended and is suing the school. Carlton Bragg has been kicked off the team. And now Vance Jackson is hurt. It is basically JaQuan Lyle and a bunch of nobodies. Over the last two weeks they were blown out by 33 at Colorado State and by 21 at UNLV. Those are two bad teams and they absolutely ran through the Lobos. San Jose State actually beat New Mexico in the first meeting, taking them down 88-85 at home. I think they can find a way to hang around here. SJSU stinks. But there is so much going on with the Lobos right now that I think expecting a 13- or 15-point blowout from them is asking too much.

5-Unit Play. Take #646 Utah State (-13) over Air Force (11 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21)
This is a revenge game for the Aggies. And it is a must-win. Utah State has come off the rails after a promising start to the season. They have lost four of their last five games overall and they have been sinking in the league standings. They need to get it going. They got absolutely blitzed in Colorado Springs on Jan. 7. The Aggies were up 11 points with under four minutes to play and were up at halftime. They got outscored 56-26 the rest of the way. That is not going to happen here. Air Force is not the same team on the road and they are coming off a sloppy 13-point home loss to Colorado State on Saturday. Utah State hasn't demolished anyone in awhile and that's what they are capable of when they play on their home gym. That's exactly what I see happening here.
