PAITASKA - This pony coming off a good contest in the last month is a solid contender in my book. The jockey/trainer tandem of Guglielmino and Hodgson has a strong return on investment together. I like this gelding. Has the top earnings per race entered in today's contest. Have to like the way Hodgson has raced this gelding back into shape off the layoff. Equine is well spotted in this sprint and I think he'll run well today. ROI BELENCIAGA - This jock and handler have a high winning percentage together.

HOPES AND PRAYERS - Will probably go to the lead and might never look back. SHOW ME THE BEST - Appears to be the type to be helped with second time Lasix here. Must be given a chance given the class of races run lately.

GLORIOUS MYSTERY - I usually like playing sprinters who are 3-4 races into a come back. This horse has increased her speed ratings from a fig of 44 to 56 to 60 in succession.

Vulnerable Contenders: #11 BESS (ML=5/2), #12 HAILEY'S WAY (ML=7/2), #10 POINT LOCKOUT (ML=8/1),

BESS - This thoroughbred just hasn't looked sharp of late. Very long layoff, then came back and finished sixth. Tough to expect much better this time around. Unlikely that the speed rating she notched on January 8th will hold up in this race. HAILEY'S WAY - In this instance, this horse's inability to close ground in the last race is a cause for concern. POINT LOCKOUT - Hard to put any money on this mare on the front end. Likes to end up on the board though. The rating in the last race doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the Equibase class figure of today's event. Mark this entrant as a likely underlay.
