The Washington Capitals will head back home to face the Nashville Predators after a big road win following the All-Star break. The club traveled to Montreal Monday night and won 4-2 against a Canadian team that was 4-1 prior to the loss. The Capitals were dominant in the performance even without their top player Alex Ovechkin. I will look for the same type of performance against this struggling Predators team tonight in Washington. The Capitals lead the Eastern Conference with a 34-11-5 overall record and is now riding a 4 game win streak while winning 7 of their last 10 games. Holtby hasn't been perfect on the season but the defense in front of him has been great. The net minder is now 19-9-4 on the season with a 3.05 goals against average but the club still ranks 5th best in the league in goals per game. Nashville is now 12th in the Western Conference with a 22-19-7 overall record. The club has struggled all season and has found no consistency on offense or defense. The Predators have won 4 of their last 10 games while losing their last contest to Toronto 5-2. The Capitals will also have a chip on their shoulder and be looking for some redemption after the Predators beat the club 6-5 back in October. Look, the Predators have payed the Capitals tough in recent years but this isn't the same Nashville squad. Washington is 4-1 in their last 5 games at home, the favorite is 4-1 in the last 5, the Predators are 0-4 in their last 4 Wednesday games and the Caps are 4-0 vs the Western Conference. Look for theCapitals to win this game 5-3 tonight in Washington.

Note, we have won 7 in a Row in the NBA and we go for #8 in a row today. The 7 in a row was our 90th Golden Week which is winning 7 in a row in any sport. We are now +6300 on the year in the NBA and we look to make it +7000 today. We also have a great 7*CBB lined up today too for a jam packed day as we go for 3 wins in a row in Hockey as well. You might think this is a lot of disrespect for the Bulls being nearly a 10 point dog at Indiana. This is a team that after all beat the Spurs just their last game. However, the difference here is the Pacers just lost by 10 points to the Blazers giving up nearly 140 points which is a big no-no for Nate McMillan who is a defensive minded coach. You have Oladipo coming back today as well and it will take him and the entire team to learn their new roles with him back in the lineup. Given the Pacers loss, given Oladipo's return and given the Bulls having a let down after the Big Spurs win, we like this game to likely go Under for our 8th straight NBA Winner. 5-Unit Play: Take 821 Chattanooga -3 over Samford (7:30 p.m., Wed., Jan. 29)

I'm laying the points with Chattanooga on Wednesday night. Samford has hit the skids and even though they hung around and covered as a big dog in their most recent game, there's talk that HC Scott Padgett could be in his final season with the Bulldogs. Samford is getting out-scored 83-69 on average in conference play. Suffice it to say, they're a mess at both ends of the floor. They're also on a 1-7-1 ATS slide against teams with a winning record. Chattanooga fits the bill and have been tremendous against teams with a losing record, going 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9. The Mocs are nailing nearly 49% of their FGA in conference action, while Samford has allowed Southern Conference rivals to connect on 48% of their shots, including 40% of their 3-pointers. We also have the better rebounding team -- and it's worth noting the Bulldogs average less than 10 assists per game and commit over 15 turnovers per game. I'm backing Texas Tech on Wednesday. I released a free play on Kentucky and against Texas Tech over the weekend and the Wildcats hung on for the close win. But I'm back on the Red Raiders in this crucial home game. Tech is almost at the point where another homecourt loss could mean they'll need help in March to reach the Dance. I believe they'll get the all important win tonight. Kyler Edwards has been playing extremely well of late and we expect a bounce back from Jahmi'us Ramsey.
