7 Unit Play. Take #579 Over 215.5 Utah at Denver (10:35p.m., Thursday January 30 TNT)
The late TNT game should be fantastic as we will have a Western Conference battle at the Pepsi Center. The red hot Utah Jazz come to Denver winners of 8 out 10 and their offense has been nothing but on fire as of late. The Jazz are averaging 110.2ppg in those 10 games and I see them controlling the tempo. The Denver Nuggets have split their last 6 games but the Nuggets last two home games both of them have gone 'Over' the total. The last three meetings between these two teams 2 of them have gone 'Over' and the Jazz in those 3 games are averaging 114.3ppg. Utah is 6-0 O/U last 6 road games and the Jazz are also 7-2 O/U after scoring 100 points or more in their last game. The Denver Nuggets are 7-3 O/U as a favorite and again look for the Jazz to control the pace tonight.

2-Unit Play. Take #604 Florida International (-2) over Marshall (7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30)
Florida International is a completely different team at home and they have won eight straight in Miami. Marshall, coincidentally, is not nearly as good when they play off their home court. And after a rough week last week, getting swept in a home-and-home with Western Kentucky, I wonder where their focus is going to be on this road trip. Marshall wants to play fast, but they don't play any defense. That is going to play right into FIU's hands. They like to trap full court and play up-tempo, except they are the much better defensive team. This spread should be around 5.5 but I think that the books are going to short it. I also think that Marshall is going to continue to be terrible on the road while FIU continues their solid home court play. Lay the points here in this CUSA matchup.

7-Unit Play. Take #628 Illinois (-5) over Minnesota (7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30)
This line is available at Treasure Island, Circa Sports and the Wynn. I think that this is a good matchup for the home team. Minnesota is kind of a big, strong team that wants to bang away at opponents. Illinois has more than enough size on the interior, though, and they love to bang and grind. The Illini have a much better backcourt, though, and they are better defensively. I don't think that the Golden Gophers will be able to handle Kofi Cockburn and Giorgi Bezhanishvili on the interior. And I think that Minnesota's guards are going to struggle with Illinois' deny-and-pressure defense on the perimeter. Illinois has won six straight games overall and they haven't lost at home in two months. They are coming off back-to-back impressive road wins, dominating Purdue on the road and then handling Michigan away from home as well. Minnesota has been garbage on the road. When they've lost this year, it has generally been pretty ugly. And other than sweeping shaky Ohio State, Minnesota hasn't done a ton this year that instills confidence. I think the Illini are going to be up for this game and I think that they will get it.

4-Unit Play. Take #648 Maryland (-5.5) over Iowa (8:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30)
Iowa should not have won its last game, getting gifted a win (and cover) against Wisconsin on Monday. Iowa has won five straight. But four of those games were at home, and the lone road win was against a bad Northwestern team. Maryland is really good at home and they will be ramped up for this game against a fellow Top 20 team. This is a good matchup for the Terps. They have the size on the interior to more than handle Luka Garza. Maryland has played four of its last five games on the road, so it is easy to forget how dominant they can be on their own floor. (See: a 12-point win over Ohio State and a 16-point win over Indiana). Maryland also has revenge for an embarrassing 67-49 loss at Iowa on Jan. 10 and I think that they will get it back here.

2-Unit Play. Take #664 Washington (+3) over Arizona (9 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30)
This is kind of a do-or-die moment for the young Huskies. This team has lost five of its last six and seven of their last nine games. But they are much better than their record suggests. Two of those losses were in overtime and five of the seven losses have come by four points or less. They have played four of their last six games on the road and I think that they will get a boost from the home crowd here. Arizona is a really young team as well. But they have not played much on the road, and they haven't played well on the road. They are 0-4 in their four road games, including a total collapse against rival Arizona State on Saturday. I think Washington will win this one outright.

2-Unit Play. Take #669 Belmont (-14.5) over Tennessee Tech (9 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30)
Belmont should not be screwing around here. And they should absolutely bury one of the worst teams in college basketball. Belmont took two tough losses last week, falling to rival Murray State on national TV and then getting embarrassed in a letdown spot at Austin Peay. Those losses were ugly. And Belmont has had to sit on them all week. They should be ready to unleash the fury here.

1-Unit Play. Take #693 Colorado (-4.5) over UCLA (11 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30)

7-Unit Play. Take #628 Illinois (-5.5) over Minnesota (7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30)I will go with the home team in this one. Illinois is 11-1 straight up at home this year. Minnesota has really struggled on the road, going just 1-6. Illinois is coming off back-to-back ATS wins on the road and I think that they are going to get another big win here. Minnesota is 1-2 SU and ATS in their last three games and is coming off an 18-point loss to Michigan State. The Golden Gophers are just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games after a double-digit loss at home. I think they will struggle again here. The home team has won and covered three straight meetings between these two teams. The favorite is 7-1 ATS in this series and the home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six. The Fighting Illini are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team that's over .500 and I like them to get the job done here.

3-Unit Play. Take #640 Arkansas State (-1.5) over Appalachian State (8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30)
Arkansas State has been one of the best ATS teams in college basketball this season. They are 15-5 ATS and I think that they are going to get another win here. Appalachian State is just 2-4 SU and 1-5 ATS in their last six games and this team has struggled on the road. They are coming off a road win at Coastal Carolina and I don't think that the Mountaineers will be able to win back-to-back road games. The home team has won six of the last seven meetings in this series and the Red Wolves are 6-0 ATS as a home favorite. Lay this short number.

7-Unit Play. #647. Take Over 145.5 Iowa vs. Maryland (Thursday @ 8:30pme st)
We roll with with the Over here as we think this game is likely to be high scoring and have a very fast pace. Maryland just beat Indiana by 1 point on the road in a thriller and had beat Northwestern by 11 before that and Purdue by 7 before that. This team had beat a very good Ohio State team and then got thumped at Iowa earlier this year by a score of 49-67. It was a terrible game and this team had basically a season low total in points of sub 50 points. Maryland will be ticked and that will not happen today with revenge. But, rather than the Side, let's take the Over here as we come off a 7*Winner yesterday as well. Iowa just put up 68 points on Wisconsin which is not easy to do, 85 against Rutgers and 90 against Michigan. This is a team that shies against no one and can put up points against anyone. I think when you put that all together, you are likely to get a very fast paced game that likely sees this game go over the posted total today. Taking a double-digit road favorite can be very difficult, but the Raptors are healthy and the Cavs stink. Cleveland is one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA and Toronto is going to exploit that problem all night long. The Raptors are starting to really look good as they have won eight games in a row while the Cavs have lost eight of nine. Out of the eight Cavs losses, six were by double-figures. Cleveland gets blown out a lot and tonight will be no different.
