This is a great spot to fade the Rockets off their big win last night over the Lakers and now favored on the road in Phoenix. The Rockets are getting a ton of public support tonight and yet the line isn’t fluctuating off the opener. That tells us Vegas is very confident in the number they posted. Injuries are taking their toll on the Dallas Mavericks. They are without Luka Doncic (28.8 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 8.7 APG) and Dwight Powell (9.4 PPG, 5.7 RPG). And they could be without Kristaps Porzingis (18.2 PPG, 9.1 RPG), Seth Curry (10.8 PPG) and J.J. Barea (8.9 PPG) tonight, who are all three questionable.
It’s no wonder the Mavericks are just 4-5 SU in their last nine games overall as these injuries start to mount. They were just upset by the Grizzlies on Wednesday by 14 as 4-point home favorites. And now they will be playing their 5th game in 8 days tonight, so they are a tired team, which is compounded with all these injuries.
The Wizards are fresh and ready to go tonight. They come in on three days’ rest since last playing the Warriors on Monday. The Wizards have gotten healthier here of late and are 4-4 SU & 5-3 ATS in their last eight games overall. They are good enough to take down the short-handed Mavericks tonight.
