COBH is my choice. He has a good opportunity here as conditioner, Potts, has strong win clip with horses going this distance. Should land on the board without a doubt. Put up a sound speed rating in the last race. Can run another good one in this race. MACANAO - Must be considered - I like the figs from the last race. He has earned solid numbers under today's conditions and will almost certainly fare well versus this group of horses in this race. PRAISE THE MOON - The almost immediate return to the races points to a sound effort this time out. Will almost certainly compete strongly in the early pace contest which bodes well with this group of animals.

SILVER FURY - Rider and conditioner do well when they combine forces. Couton and Heap have been reliable together. DARKHAWK - Gelding will add blinkers to the equipment package today. That often leads to an improved performance. ICE OR FIRE - Nice return on investment for this rider and handler twosome. I like horses that return to a similar class level after dropping at least 5 class rating points like this one did in the last race. I believe he'll be competitive at this level.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 WINTER FOG (ML=3/1), #4 CYCLOPS (ML=4/1), #6 ROCKY ROSES (ML=5/1),

WINTER FOG - Finished third in his most recent performance with a mediocre speed fig. When I look at today's class figure, it would take an improved performance to win after that in this group. CYCLOPS - Could be tough for this horse to beat this bunch off of that last speed rating. Not likely to improve enough to run a figure anywhere near today's class rating, so put him on the likely underpriced equines list. ROCKY ROSES - Would have to get quite a bit more than the morning line odds of 5/1 to bet on this entrant.

Formidable average Equibase speed figs in dirt sprint races make this equine a solid choice. MAJESTIC CORREDOR - Must be considered here on the basis of the figs in the speed department alone. Conditioner has solid win rate (42 percent) at this distance and surface. CRAFTINESS - He has earned competitive figs under today's conditions and ought to fare well versus this group of horses. Could beat this field given the 71 Equibase Speed Figure garnered in his last outing.
