    7-Unit Play. Take #812 SMU (-4.5) over Connecticut (7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12)

I am going with the home team in this one. SMU is 12-1 at home this year and Connecticut has been terrible on the road, going just 1-5. The Huskies are coming off a big home win over Cincinnati on Sunday, winning 72-71 in overtime. I think that they will come out flat in this game and have a letdown on the road against a very tough SMU team. The Mustangs are coming off a tough OT loss at Temple on Saturday in a game where they blew a huge lead in the second half. I think that this team is angry about that loss and they will get it back here. The Mustangs are 5-1 ATS in their last six games after a loss. The home team is 9-2 ATS in this series and the favorite is 8-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings. SMU is 5-2 ATS in their last seven against the Huskies and they are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games. Lay the points here.

      5-Unit Play. Take #512 Minnesota (-8.5) over Charlotte (8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12)

I will go with Minnesota in this game. They played Toronto tough for three quarters in their last time out. They were not able to cover the spread in that one and they are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games. I think that they will rebound in this one and get a win before the All-Star Break. This team improved itself at the trade deadline by adding DeAngelo Russell. I think he will make a difference for this young team. Charlotte is just 1-5 SU and ATS in its last six games. Minnesota is 4-2 ATS in the last six meetings in this series. Charlotte I just 1-4 ATS on the road and 1-5 ATS as an underdog. I will lay the points in this one. Take the Timberwolves.

        7-Unit Play. Take #514 Memphis (-3.5) over Portland (8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12)

This is a great spot to grab the home team. Memphis is a tough team as of late as they have won seven of their last nine games overall, and they are having success scoring the basketball. Portland isn't a good road team and they struggle to defend which will be a huge thorn in their side tonight versus a rested Memphis team. The Grizzlies have been off since Sunday while Portland played in New Orleans last night in a game that they gave up 138 points. Take the home team in this one as the Grizzlies are 6-0 ATS in their last six games as a favorite and 5-1 ATS in their last six games versus a team with a losing straight up record. This is a big spot for Memphis as they are currently holding down the final playoff spot in the West, and Portland is the team chasing them.

          6-Unit Play #503 Take Atlanta -2 over Cleveland (7 p.m. EST, Wednesday Feb 12)

The Hawks have covered in five of the last seven meetings here in Cleveland. We think this is a great chance for Atlanta to get a rare road win tonight. Cleveland has lost six straight games and things are not good right now with this team. We just don't see them playing well here and this team looks like it is ready for the all-star break. Atlanta is one of those bad NBA teams that is playing for momentum for next season while the Cavs are a no hope team right now that is trying to figure out what to do. The Hawks are better poised for success here, and we expect them to win this one comfortably.

          2-Unit Play #507 Take Toronto/Brooklyn UNDER 223.5 (7:30 p.m. EST, Wednesday Feb 12)

Toronto has been trending to the over, but the bookies have posted a too high number here for this Wednesday game. Toronto is a Top 5 defensive team, and there's a great chance that they hold the Nets to a low total here tonight. The Nets have actually been playing some decent defense lately and as a result, four of their last five games have played under the total. We had this game handicapper at 219 so we think there is some good value here as we leaned to the under even at our handicapped number.

              Cal Irvine -4.5

Teams at the top of all conferences get to comfortable at times, and it looks like that is what happened to UC Irvine in its last game. Now, with just a two-game lead and coming off a loss, I expect a very focus ed team Wednesday. Hopefully, there is no over confidence from a 16-point win early this season over Cal State Riverside. UC Irvine is the best team the Highlanders have played this year.

                ECU +10.5

Overachieving Tulsa is floating back down to Earth, perhaps without its parachute. The Golden Hurricane, shocking leader of the AAC until surprising defeats in the last two outings, would miss life-saving forward Brandon Rachel (ankle). He leads the team in points, rebounds, blocks and steals. His status is unknown. ECU ended its oh-fer season straight-up on the road by blasting Tulane last weekend, which was a confidence-booster for this next away game.

It's like a heavyweight fight when these two meet, so expect a physical, low-scoring game. Both teams have been moneymakers when it comes to Unders this season. The Under is 15-7 overall for the Jayhawks and a perfect 7-0 in their true road games, while it is 16-7 on the season for West Virginia. Kansas allows just over 60 points per game while the Mountaineers are permitting just over 61.

This spread is low and raises my concerns however, the Bulls are not a really good team; they are solid defensively but have problems offensively. Meanwhile this is a dangerous Houston team on both ends of the court. The Cougars pounded the Bulls 68-49 in the last meeting just a couple weeks ago and have won seven of their last eight overall. The Bulls are the worst free throw shooting team in the conference (63.3 percent). Take Houston.

The Pacers are struggling right now having dropped six straight games, five of them at home, and are 0-5 ATS in those five home games. The Bucks have won five in a row and dominated both meetings against the Pacers this season, winning by an average of 23.5 points a game. Milwaukee is an NBA-best 21-4 on the road this year. Bucks money line is the play.

St. John’s breezed through its pre-Big East schedule, only to lose nine of 11 league games so far. Now, the Red Storm must cope with the loss of No. 2 scorer Mustapha Heron (ankle), likely out for the duration. Providence just weathered a stretch of five games against ranked opponents, so the Friars get some welcome relief here. It’s been awhile -- seven games ago -- since they bowed outright to the Red Storm.
