The Timberwolves have not only been one of the worst teams in the league, but they will have to play without Karl-Anthony Towns (wrist). He sat out their last game at home against the Hornets, which ended up being a seven-point loss. Add in their 6-20-1 record ATS at home this season, and this game could get ugly in a hurry. The Blazers are trying to work their way into the playoffs, but will have to do so without Damian Lillard (groin) for at least the next three or four games. He’s absolutely carried them, so his absence has the potential to be a crushing blow. They lost both of the previous games that Lillard sat out, one of which was an 11-point loss to these same Pelicans, who were without both Zion Williamson and Lonzo Ball in that matchup. After blowing out the Blazers by 21 points with a healthy Lillard just 10 days ago, look for the Pelicans to cover here.

I’m not sold considering their two wins came against bad teams in the Hawks and Pistons. In fact, they only beat the Pistons by four points despite playing at home. The Magic are 10-17-1 ATS at home while the Mavericks have been excellent on the road, posting a 18-6-2 mark there ATS. The Mavericks also enter this matchup healthy, so I’ll take them to cover.

Their starting lineup has outscored opponents by 16.6 points per 100 possessions, but due to injuries of their own, that group has only played 211 possessions together. Lonzo Ball, Jrue Holiday, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson and Derrick Favors should be good to go Friday, and that bodes poorly for Portland.
