After two straight home losses out of the All-Star Break, to San Antonio and Houston, the Jazz certainly will be focused. Nets the best 1H ATS team in the NBA of late, 18-10 ATS overall and 7-3 last 10. Magic 3-7 last 10 1H ATS and as a road dog it drops even more...while Brooklyn (not home a ton of late) is even better as home chalk with regard to halftime margin. Kyrie was announced out...and now the core of this team that has done MOST of the work for the majority of this season...healthy...and with a ton of cohesion...knows this is THEIR season...and only THEIRS. There is no threat of Kyrie or Durant messing up this chemistry for Atkinson...and the offense of Dinwiddie, Levert, Harris combined with the paint and rim protection duo of Allen/Jordan are not something to be taken lightly...especially for a mediocre team especially on the road like Orlando.
FIRST HALF analytics:
Last 3 games...Nets with the #2 defensive efficiency and top net rating at 22.5 differential! They are 3-0 to the spread in the first half at home in those games and dominate the boards on both ends...specifically on the offensive glass, putting up a 35% offensive rebound rate! On the flip side, the Magic are 1-2 ATS last 3 games in the first half on the road, put up a pretty awful 111 defensive efficiency in those 3 halves, and not only are they getting very minimal second chance opportunities...they oddly are right at the bottom of the league on the defensive glass...just over 65% rate!
Over the past month...the Magic are 0-7 ATS as a dog both home and away...with an average first half margin of 49-59. The Magic are 2-5 ATS as a road team...favorite or dog...and the Magic are 0-2 ATS as road dogs following a home loss...while 0-3 ATS with 2 days rest and travel from home.
The Nets are 3 for the last 3 as home favorites with Kyrie on the bench...leading at the half by 3, 4, and 21 points!
Full game spread -3 is certainly also excellent value...maybe as high as the 5% we have here...the game should not look a TON different from the contest recently with Charlotte, despite Orlando being a step up
