BARCELONA - All systems look good for this filly. Last workout, 2nd fastest of the day, shows she's fit and ready. This filly is in nice form. Finished first on February 15th. FOUR SEASONS GIRL - It looks like Haddock had to be in the know about this filly on February 8th when riding her for the first time. Back on again today. This jockey and conditioner are solid together. Winning percentage when teamed up is hard to best. Pino brings her back again. I suggest you stay with this live filly.

COURTING JENNY - Hasn't raced or had any workouts since Feb 1st. Not much value on this favorite. Ran inconsistently on February 1st. Be leery this time out. STEPH'S PRINCESS - Had to give me lots more last time around the track. Never made much of an impact. Can't play this pony in today's sprint of 6 furlongs. Hasn't even finished in the money in a sprint clash recently. VANESSA'S SECRET - Would have to move up off that fourth place finish last time out of the box to make an impact here. The rating last out doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the class figure of today's event. Mark this mount as a vulnerable contender.

PURE VALOR - I think Fair Grounds players know a good thing when they see the jockey/trainer tandem of Saez and Faucheux. Their winning pct together has been strong.

SEELEY - Not probable for this horse to make a winning move with no recent success in a short distance event. Finished seventh in his most recent effort with a quite unimpressive speed fig. When I look at today's class rating, it would take an improved performance to score after that in this bunch. SWINGING GALAXY - Difficult to put any dough on this gelding on the win end. Likes to hit the board though. REMEMBER ME POP - Speed figures of 58/51/46 are in motion on a downward course.

My choice for this race is MY IDOL. Could beat this group of horses given the 78 Equibase Speed Figure garnered in her last outing. Is a strong contender based on numbers posted recently under today's conditions. Strong jockey with handler figures make this horse a strong selection. PRIVATE KITTY - She has posted formidable figs under today's conditions and will probably fare well against this group of horses in this race. Pena will probably be able to get this filly to break out quickly in this competition. SURE MAGIC - Is tough not to consider based on Equibase Speed Figures which have been formidable - 72 avg - of late.

How about Wednesday’s complimentary winner on Wyoming, an outright winner over Colorado State as a double-digit underdog in the Mountain West tournament! For Friday’s freebie, it’s back to the NBA, as we’ll grab the points with the Hornets as a home underdog against Denver.



Kinda difficult to trust this Nuggets team right now, considering it is coming off Wednesday’s stunning and inexcusable 116-110 home loss to the Warriors as a 16-point favorite—that’s right, Denver was laying 16 and lost by 16!



It would be one thing if it was just an isolated setback, but the Nuggets have been trending in the wrong direction for nearly three weeks. Since capping a 12-4 SU and 11-5 ATS run with a 127-120 home win over the Spurs on Feb. 10, the Nuggets have lost four of seven on the court and five of seven at the betting window. Only two of those seven contests were on the road, but both were ugly results from Denver’s perspective: 132-103 at the Clippers and 113-101 at the Thunder.



While the Nuggets have been heading south, the Hornets are been on a bit of a surge, going 5-4 in their last nine games. Now, 5-4 might not sound that great, but it is for a team that’s got just 21 victories all season. More importantly, Charlotte is 7-2 ATS over this nine-game stretch (all as an underdog), including 3-1 ATS at home.



The key to the Hornets’ modest run of success lately? Defense. They’ve held six of their last opponents to 104 points or fewer, including giving up 76, 93, 93 and 96 points in four of those contests (winning three outright).



The only thing gives me a bit of pause here is Charlotte point guard Devonte’ Graham is questionable with an ankle injury. But even if Graham can’t go, I still like the generous points we’re getting, especially since the home team is 6-0 SU and ATS in the last six meetings between these squads, with the Hornets taking the last three on their own floor.
