              MICHIGAN -2.5
              MICHIGAN VS RUTGERS | 3/12 | 12:00 PM EDT
Big 10 SECOND ROUND -- The Scarlet Knights stumbled a bit down the stretch in their breakout season, but wins over Maryland and Purdue likely sealed their NCAA bid. The Wolverines can't be quite as confident, but beating Rutgers on Thursday for a third time this season would help their cause. Look for Rutgers' matchup problems with Michigan's Zavier Simpson and Franz Wagner to again make the difference.

                VCU VS MASSACHUSETTS | 3/12 | 12:00 PM EDT
                11:44 AM
A-10 SECOND ROUND -- VCU is banged up and gets a UMass team that has played terrific defense down the stretch. Grab the points as the Rams fall to 1-8 ATS in their last nine games.

                PROVIDENCE +1.5
                BUTLER VS PROVIDENCE | 3/12 | 2:30 PM EDT
                10:06 AM
BIG EAST QUARTERFINAL -- Providence ended the season on an 8-2 SU run, including a 65-61 win at Butler. The Friars, who beat five ranked teams in February, led the league in defensive efficiency during conference play. And now they're getting big offensive contributions from graduate transfer Luwane Pipkins. He's averaging 19.2 points during the team's current six-game win streak. Play the dog.

TEXAS TECH VS TEXAS | 3/12 | 12:30 PM EDT
                9:33 AM
BIG 12 QUARTERFINAL -- This should be a grinder between two good defensive teams. Texas made a late-season surge by going small, so you can't trust the Longhorns' season-long numbers. Texas defeated Texas Tech by 10 by Feb. 29. Grab the points.

                UC DAVIS +2
UC DAVIS VS HAWAII | 3/12 | 11:30 PM EDT
                9:22 AM
BIG WEST QUARTERFINAL -- The Aggies are 13-2-1 ATS in their last 16 games as underdogs, and I like them to end their recent frustration versus the Rainbow Warriors. Hawaii won both meetings this season, 76-75 and 67-65 a week ago. UC Davis only took 15 treys in the most recent loss, which was shocking for a team that makes a league-best 39.7 percent. Grab the points.

                    1-Unit Play. Take #689 LaSalle (+9) over Davidson (6 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
I don't think that Davidson deserves to be favored by this much over just about anyone in this tournament. The Wildcats have been a dud all year. They are soft and they don't play defense. LaSalle may not be any good, but Philly kids definitely aren't soft. They will give the Wildcats a fight in this game and this line should've been around 5.5.

1-Unit Play. Take #693 St. John's (+6) over Creighton (Noon)
St. John's scored a wild comeback last night. I think that they have a chance to carry that momentum over against a vulnerable Creighton team. The Bluejays are all kinds of legit. But they are in a bit of a letdown spot here today. They have to play the noon game, basically on the road, and they may be without starting guard Marcus Zegarowski, who is banged up. St. John's is going to be revved up and bring a lot of energy into this one. I think they have a shot at the upset so I will take the points.

                    3-Unit Play. Take #697 DePaul (+10) over Villanova (7 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
I have said all year that this DePaul team is better than its record. One win over shaky Xavier doesn't exactly prove that. But I think that playing Villanova to the bone will. This is way too many points to lay out. Sure, Villanova is capable of shooting people's lights out. But don't forget that this DePaul team took them to OT earlier this year. In fact, this Blue Demons team has wins over Iowa, Minnesota and Texas Tech this season, so go along with a bunch of close losses. I think that they can keep this one competitive.

                    4-Unit Play. Take #700 Seton Hall (-3) over Marquette (9:30 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
I absolutely hate giving points to Markus Howard, the most dangerous shooter in college basketball. But I am all-in with Seton Hall. I think that this team is the best squad in the Big East and I think that they have Final Four potential. They are the three seed by virtue of some tiebreakers. But I think they are going to win this tournament. They are playing closer to home here and that is definitely an advantage. I also think that they are going to be plenty pissed off after losing two straight down the stretch to blow the outright regular season title. Are they going to lose three games in a row? I don't think so. And that's basically what needs to happen for Marquette to cover this number. I've watched Seton Hall play Marquette twice this year and they have a great defensive plan for guarding him. (They basically try to high-side deny him, and force him to catch and shoot inside the paint. I don't know why more teams don't do this.) I think that they can at least contain him (keep him under 35) and escape with a win here.

2-Unit Play. Take #702 Akron (-3.5) over Ohio (Noon, Thursday, March 12)
Akron has been the best team in the conference and they will prove it here. Ohio got a home game against a weak Central Michigan team and took advantage in the first round. Now they are on the road facing a much tougher opponent, and I don't expect the Bobcats to shoot 57 percent from the field or hold their opponent to 12 percent shooting from 3-piont range.

3-Unit Play. Take #704 Northern Illinois (-2) over Miami, OH (2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
With a line this small, I will take the best player on the court. This is Eugene German's last shot at doing something in March and I don't expect him to go quietly. This Northern Illinois team is a bit of a sleeper in this bracket and I think they can do some damage. They have revenge for a loss in their last try against Miami, OH, and they beat them by 15 in the first meeting. I will put my money on German.

                    1-Unit Play. Take #714 Ohio State (-2) over Purdue (6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
Ohio State has just been by far the more impressive of these two teams this year. Purdue has been awful on the road, while Ohio State has buried the needle against some really good competition this season. I think the will do it again here, even though they aren't at 100 percent.

                    2-Unit Play. Take #718 Florida State (-6.5) over Clemson (12:30 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
Clemson stinks. And Florida State has revenge for a 70-69 loss to the Tigers just a couple of weeks ago. Florida State is the real deal. And they aren't going to take this game lightly. I think that they bury the needle against a Tigers team that just can't put the ball in the hole.

                    2-Unit Play. Take #721 Notre Dame (+3) over Virginia (7 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
I think that Virginia stinks. I know that they have won eight games in a row and 11 of 12. And I know all about their defense. But these guys really do stink. Notre Dame took them to overtime in Charlottesville in the first meeting. And after a long, arduous season I think that the Irish have a little bit of magic left in them for a run in this tournament. I think they get the upset.

                    1-Unit Play. 5-POINT TEASER: Take #725 Texas Tech (-2) over Texas (12:30 p.m.) AND Take #720 Duke (-3) over N.C. State (3 p.m.)

                    4-Unit Play. Take #735 Georgia (+8) over Florida (3 p.m., Thursday, March 12)

1-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 142.5 Georgia vs. Florida (3 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
The line movement here suggests that Kerry Blackshear is going to play. However, the Florida big man still might not play and he is definitely not 100 percent. With a wrist injury. If he doesn't play I think that Florida can lose this game outright. He is their only big man. Truly. And he is also the only guy on the roster that isn't a freshman or sophomore. Georgia didn't just win big last night, they looked good. And that was without Anthony Edwards doing anything. I expect Edwards to shoot better today and that could lead to a big upset win.

                    1-Unit Play. Take #747 East Carolina (+10.5) over Memphis (10:30 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
This is just too many points for a young Memphis team to lay out. I think that this is a much bigger game and better opportunity for East Carolina than it is for Memphis. The Tigers should win this game by 20. But they are young and unmotivated and I can see them letting ECU sneak in the back door after falling behind big.

2-Unit Play. Take #764 Arizona State (-6) over Washington State (11:30 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
I have had an irrational affinity for this Arizona State team all year. I just think they are better than they've played. They just beat Washington State handily last week at home. It is tough to beat the same team twice in a week. But I think that they are good enough to do it against a young, untalented Cougs squad.

                    2-Unit Play. Take #783 Florida International (+2) over Charlotte (7;30 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
I think that the wrong team is favored. I scored with FIU last night for a 4-Unit winner and I will go right back to them here. This team is deep, so playing two games in two days shouldn't bother them. And I think that Charlotte is a lower tier team in this league and not up to the task.

                    7-Unit Play. Take #788 Louisiana Tech (-5) over Marshall (10 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
I think that Louisiana Tech can blow Marshall's doors off. This Marshall team stinks. They simply lost too much talent and production from last year's team. I know they have a distinctive, quirky style. But at the end of the day they are just a team that chucks a bunch of 3's and doesn't play any defense. This team is not even close to being the same on the road as it is at home. And, frankly, if you kick out their win over Louisiana Tech (at home) on Feb. 8 then the Herd hasn't beaten a Top 150 team since December. Louisiana Tech may be the best team in this conference. And the seniors in their starting lineup are not going to be screwing around against this young Marshall squad. I think they will want revenge for that loss in the first meeting, a game in which Marshall shot out of its mind, and I think that they will get it in spades here.

                    1-Unit Play. 5-POINT TEASER: Take #730 Baylor (-5) over Kansas State (7 p.m., Thursday, March 12) AND Take #790 Rider (-3.5) over Niagara (7 p.m., Thursday, March 12)
                    Carpe diem. Good luck.
