#7 Simply Breathless	Is on a quick run-back after finishing 7th in last Sunday's G3 San Francisco at Golden Gate. She tired vs. male rivals and returns to her home base. Won this race last year with a strong late move. Stablemate of probable favorite Toinette.
#6 Toinette	Makes her 1st since December and comes off a season in which she was 3 of 5 after going 4 of 5 in 2018; always worthy of strong support.
#5 Keeper Onthe Stars	Won the G1 Gamely last out and the G2 Buena Vista the race before that; is at the top of her game and will be close throughout this one.
Race Summary	Simply Breathless is going on an interesting run here, having lost at Golden Gate last weekend; she is back to the distaff set and likely will be a much better pace to chase this time around.

Santa Anita - Race #9

#2 Ragtime Blues	Lost his only start as a 2-year-old but has come back with two outstanding starts; he has the most speed and can take them the distance.
#1 Collusion Illusion	Hard to knock him, expect for the one loss in his 3 of 4 record, but that's nitpicking; he clearly has a ton of talent, won the G2 Best Pal and pulled up in the G1 American Pharoah.
#4 Alcools	Crushed optional claiming in his last start of 2019 and has had a steady work pattern for his return.
Race Summary	Ragtime Blues is ultra rapid and has developed well as a 3-year-old; Baffert charge the one to catch.

Santa Anita - Race #10

#3 Canyon Crest	Deep closer will get a favorable pace scenario as there is plenty of speed in which to set up his late run; won two straight and then didn't fire on the dirt last time. Has the turn of foot to score the upset.
#2 Margot's Boy	Lost his debut but won the three races since; loves it on the front end and can hang on for a major piece of it.
#7 Indian Peak	Held on for 2nd last time out and has been decent on turf, with a win and two seconds in three grass starts.
Race Summary	Canyon Crest has the best closing move and should appreciate the nine furlongs; one to hold off.

OPEN WIDE - This gelding should be in tip-top shape, this far into his form cycle. The fact that this gelding is entered right back into a race so quickly means he's fit and ready. The horse with the top average class figure in turf events is usually a solid play. This campaigner fits the bill. Lets try to beat the probable favorites with this gelding. Just missed last out, but ran a pretty good race. I do like foreign imports that have showed signs of class at a major foreign race track. BLUE MIST (GB) - This gelding is entered to race right back into a race in less than 10 days; this is a positive sign. A racer coming back this quickly after a nice effort is a good omen. In my opinion, you need 'class' to be successful on the turf. This one has the highest average class rating in the bunch. DIRTY RASCAL (IRE) - Ward moves this animal here to Royal Ascot from NBY. Looking at the horse's PP lines, he has shown the ability to win at different tracks. I just may give this one a fair chance. Should improve off last race where he did run out of the money, but was within 5 lengths at the wire. Entered the Dubai Duty Free Cup at NBY last out and raced on the soft turf finishing fifth. Will do better right here in this race. I do like foreign imports that have impressed at a major foreign race track. BERNARDO O'REILLY (GB) - This animal has shown the ability to win on different racing tracks. Making the move from DON for today's event, I have to believe he's ready to run. In my opinion, you need 'class' to be successful on the turf. This one has the highest average Equibase class figure in the field. This thoroughbred ran off the board at DON in the last race on the soft turf. He should improve in this race under better track conditions. PASS THE VINO (IRE) - Have to make this gelding a solid contender; he comes off a solid race on Jun 5th. This thoroughbred isn't the M/L favorite, but finished ahead of today's M/L favorite in his last race (Jun 5th at NEW). This horse has increased his speed ratings from a fig of 58 to 89 to 98 in succession. LOUIE DE PALMA (GB) - In my opinion, you need 'class' to be successful on the turf. This one has the highest average class rating in the field. Lets try to beat the probable favorites with this gelding. Just missed last out, but ran a respectable race. This gelding has showed signs of class at major foreign tracks, and ships in for today's race. Could be tough to beat. This horse didn't run well on the soft turf in his last start at YOR. You probably want to ignore that showing.

SWINDLER (GB) - The fifth place finish last time around the track coming after the very long layoff is undeniably not a good sign. This gelding registered a rating in his last event which probably isn't good enough in today's race. APLOMB (IRE) - Should have at least finished in the money in the last couple months in a short distance race to be worth a shot at modest odds in a sprint.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - LOUIE DE PALMA (GB) - 1st race back after being off 251 days. My extensive research says he does well, coming back re-energized after a lengthy layoff.

HAVE ANOTHER ONE - There is a strong chance that this entry's late pace will improve with second time Lasix. Has been racing in the most competitive company of the group as of late. CRUSE - Should expect a much improved attempt with the drop. Has been racing solidly and has among the best speed in the race for today's distance.
