The Nascar Cup boys are in Pocono for the 2nd race of a back to back double header on Sunday. Kurt Busch has 3 wins, 14 Top 5 finishes and 20 Top 10 finishes in his 38 races at Pocono. His average finish is 14.5 at this track. Alex Bowman has no wins, 1 Top 5 finish and 1 Top 10 finish in his 9 races at Pocono. His average finish is 22.8 at this track. We'll recommend a small play on Kurt Busch to finish ahead of Alex Bowman today! Thanks and good luck, Rocky

Hit the big play with Dustin Poirier last night and free play hits with Zalal. Sun Summers wins the first but Chalon did nothing yesterday at Belmont. Today we have two from Belmont and one from Churchill. Good luck.

        Mike McClure

        NASCAR

The model began its season paying out big by picking Denny Hamlin to win his second consecutive Daytona 500 at 10-1. It got off to a hot start following the coronavirus hiatus as well, calling seven top-10 drivers at The Real Heroes 400 and Toyota 500 at Darlington. Using the model, McClure also recommended an outright play on winner Brad Keselowski at 13-1 as one of his best bets at Bristol. The model also called Kevin Harvick's win at Atlanta and nailed a whopping nine top-10 finishers in that race. McClure also used the model to lock in a bet for Hamlin at 10-1 for his win at Miami.

The projected top 10, according to the model:

        1. Kyle Busch (7/2)
        2. Kevin Harvick (4-1)
        3. Denny Hamlin (4-1)
        4. Martin Truex Jr (8-1)

            Bob Weir

            Horse Racing

            Belmont Park Race 6 (3:59 p.m. ET)
1 Selfmade (5-2) moves from trainer Jeremiah Englehart to Bill Mott, moves to the turf and drops into maiden claiming. There are lots of changes, but it seems as if everything fits. There's not much established form in this race, and if he takes to the turf (he is bred well enough for that to happen), he's got a big shot.

6 Fridaybeers (6-1) showed speed and stopped in his debut sprinting on the dirt. On Sunday he adds blinkers and picks up aggressive rider Luis Saez. Look for Fridaybeers to be sent early if he takes to the turf. (His dam was a turfer.) He does not have much to beat in here.

11 Bielefeld (3-1) tried tougher in his debut and didn't show much. He can improve in his second start with the drop into maiden claiming.

            A: 1,6,11
            B: None

            Belmont Park Race 7 (4:32 p.m. ET)
A consistent filly, 1 Peaceful (3-1) ran four nice races last summer and fall. On Sunday she returns as a 4-year-old and is seemingly working well. She looks solid in here.

3 Cariba (5-2) has improved since moving to the turf two starts ago. She turns back here after going two turns at Gulfstream Park. Trainer Christophe Clement is adept at that move, so I'm not too concerned.

Linda Rice trainee 6 Rude Awaking (12-1) makes an interesting spot for her return. Claimed two starts ago, she immediately won off the claim with the best performance of her short career sprinting on the dirt. I can only assume that she was claimed with the turf switch in mind. We might see further improvement.

            A: 1,3
            B: 6

            Belmont Park Race 8 (5:04 p.m. ET)
            Bouwerie Stakes
Trainer Jeremiah Englehart brings back two promising fillies making their 3-year-old debuts. 1 Critical Value (6-5) is the more accomplished one, winning the Maid of Mist stakes and finishing a good fourth in the Grade 2 Demoiselle. She's training forwardly for her return, and the seven furlong distance should suit her. She's the one to beat.

4 Risky Mischief (3-1) is his other Englehart filly. She had an impressive debut win but then faltered in the Grade 1 Spinaway. Running seven furlongs off the bench might be tough, but she must be respected.

I'm willing to give 3 Naked Avenger (8-1) a chance. Her two starts as a 3-year-old are poor, but they were both at Gulfstream Park. Has she regressed or did she just not take to the track? She's worth a shot at a fair price for her return to New York. Her 2-year-old races at Belmont fit this field.

            A: 1,4
            B: 3

            Belmont Park Race 9 (5:36 p.m. ET)
The last start 9 Crescent Lady (5-1) made has the look of a prep race. She made a middle run in a sprint off a long layoff. On Sunday she returns to a route distance. Any improvement puts her in the mix.

In her last start, 8 Spin Your Partner (15-1) fought the rider for over half the race and was predictably empty when entering the stretch. She was the favorite in a pretty weak race. I think there could be more here.

1 Kiss and Run (8-1) made a middle run in her 3-year-old debut and improved her Beyer Speed Figure. On Sunday she moves back into state-bred maiden special from open maiden special. She could be closing late.

11 Sainte Mere Eglise (3-1) had a good debut run at Saratoga but then went on the shelf for 10 months. That's concerning, but if she is ready she can contend.

In this field, first-time starters and firsters from Christophe Clement must be considered. 3 Timeless Journey (10-1) seems to be working along fine and would not surprise in here.

Sunday's Best Bet: Sleepy Eyes Todd looks best in Lone Star Mile
                by Jarrod Horak June 27, 2020 4:54pm

Sunday’s 8th race from Lone Star Park is the $75,000 Lone Star Mile for four-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the main track (Post Time 7:37 p.m. ET).

#1 SLEEPY EYES TODD (3-1) owns early-pressing versatility, and with speed to his outside, he will probably sit a ground saving stalking trip. He is sharp and fresh, and is fast enough to win this on his best day.

#7 Mocito Rojo (9-2) is a classy flat mile specialist, and he is a graded winner at this course and distance. He should get plenty of pace to chase, and Gerard Melancon guided him to a couple of stakes victories in 2019.

#9 Vangilder (8-1) should get a nice setup for Steve Asmussen. The four-year-old colt needed his one mile return at Will Rogers and should move forward. He easily won an entry level affair at this course and distance last year, and followed that up with a stakes victory at Albuquerque and a runner-up finish in the Super Derby (G3).

                Wagers:

                #1 to win

                Exacta 1/7-9

                Exacta 7-9/1

                Trifecta 1-7/ALL/9
