Milwaukee began the season by losing two of three against the Chicago Cubs, scoring a total of one run in the setbacks. Two-time reigning NL batting champion Christian Yelich is just 1-for-13 thus far. Pittsburgh's Jose Osuna is off to a strong start with two RBIs in each of his first two games. Expect the Pirates to feed off Sunday's win - their first of 2020.

Philadelphia combined with one of the majors' worst teams in the Miami Marlins to average more than 10 runs during their season-opening three-game series. The Yankees arguably have the best lineup in baseball and will be looking to break out after totaling nine runs in their three-game set against Washington. New York also will be facing Jake Arrieta, who missed the final 1 1/2 months of the 2019 campaign with bone spurs in his elbow.

Tampa Bay is coming off a 6-5, extra-inning win over Toronto in which it trailed 4-0. It's natural for handicappers to play against a team a day after an extra-inning affair, but the Rays are 8-0 as a 130-plus favorite with no rest in the opener of a home series after going extra innings, winning by an average of four runs. Also, they are 9-0 SU at home after a game in which they were favored and scored in more innings than their opponent. Atlanta, which his coming off a 14-1 romp over the Mets, is 0-8 as a 105-plus underdog after a road game in which it had at least 12 hits, with each of the last six losses being by multiple runs. We are on Tampa Bay.

Today, we have action between The Angels and The Athletics. Although there are question marks on the mound for both teams I look at the team that has the deeper roster on both sides of the ball the edge and that team is 100% the Oakland A's. Griffin Canning had a weak campaign last season with a record of 4-5 with an ERA of 4.58 as I look at the loaded bats of Oakland to take advantage of that. We look at Basset to keep rolling against the Angels after going 2-0 against them last year.
Canning will be a must fade for me and my clients all season long and it start this afternoon.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that Monday's game between the Yankees and Phillies in Philadelphia has been postponed.
This is the second cancellation of the day, with the Orioles and Marlins in Miami also being called off. The Marlins are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak in their clubhouse after playing in Philadelphia over the weekend.
