On Saturday I handed you a free play winner on Oklahoma City-Utah Under the total.

For Sunday let's go with another NBA total winner only this time I am going with Portland and Boston to play Over the total.

Both teams have one game under their belts in this "reboot" of the league and both teams happened to land Over the total as the Trail Blazers went overtime with the Grizzlies and toppled their total, while the Celtics combined with the Milwaukee Bucks to land Over the posted price.

Portland happens to be on a 6-3 Over run dating back to the March stoppage and that includes Overs in 3 of their last 4 games overall.

Boston has played their last pair Over the total and the Over happens to be 4-2 in the C's last 6 games.

The teams had met once back in the month of February with that game played up in the pacific northwest, as they the series numbers moved to 5-3 the last 8 times these East/West rivals have jumped ball.

Plenty of offense on the court today in Orlando and Over the total we shall go.

This one is all about the pitching matchup: Young right-hander Aaron Civale takes the hill for the Tribe, while the Twins are going with a “bullpen game” started by veteran reliever Tyler Clippard.



Even though Cleveland has dropped the last two games in this series, it’s certainly no fault of the pitching staff, which has yielded just seven runs in three games (all seven coming the last two nights). Fact is, the Indians’ arms have carried the club in the early going — carried it big time. Just look at the numbers: Heading into Saturday’s games, only the Dodgers (2.04) had a lower team ERA than the Indians’ 2.13 — and the next best mark was the Nats at 2.69!



Cleveland pitchers have delivered eight quality starts in nine games (no other team has more than 4), and entering Saturday the staff ranked tied for third in opponents’ batting average (.198) and WHIP (0.90), while boasting an absolutely INSANE 94-14 strikeout-to-walk ratio.



Young right-hander Aaron Civale, who gets the ball for the Tribe in this one, helped contribute to those impressive team stats in his first outing of the season on Tuesday. Facing the White Sox at home, the 25-year-old scattered seven hits and yielded two runs in six innings while walking just one and striking out nine in a 4-3 victory.



Going back almost a calendar year (Aug. 5, 2019), Civale has been a model of consistency for the Tribe: In 10 starts, he’s allowed two earned runs or fewer nine times and pitched at least into the sixth inning seven times. Even if you include his one subpar outing (four ER in 3 2/3 innings vs. White Sox in his final start last year), Civale boasts a 2.34 ERA over his last 10 trips to the mound.



That includes two terrific outings against the Twins, in which he gave up a combined two runs (one run in each start), seven hits and three walks with nine strikeouts across 11 innings.



Admittedly, Indians hitters haven’t exactly been tearing the cover off the ball of late — after getting blanked last night, Cleveland has plated just three runs in its last four games (getting shutout twice). But it’s only a matter of time before a lineup anchored by studs like Francisco Lindor, Jose Ramirez and Carlos Santana starts putting up crooked numbers — and I’m betting that time comes today, especially with the Twins going the “opener” route.

My free play is on the Col Rockies at 3:10 ET. The Colorado Rockies went 71-91 in 2019, leaving them a whopping 35 games back of the NL West champion LA Dodgers. One game worse than the Rockies were the 70-92 San Diego Padres. However, Both teams have played well in the early going. The Padres rallied in the 9th inning on Friday to win 8-7 but then the Rockies won last night, 6-1. The teams wrap up a three-game weekend series Sunday at Coors Field with San Diego sitting 6-3 (tied with the Dodgers) and Colorado at 5-2 (three teams are in a virtual tie for first-place in the NL West).

Righty Zach Davies (1-0, 3.60 ERA) will take the ball for San Diego in the rubber match, going against Colorado right-hander Antonio Senzatela (1-0, 3.60 ERA). San Diego's Saturday's starter, Joey Lucchesi, didn't make it out of the second inning (1.2 IP / 6 hits / 3 ERs). Therefore, manager Jayce Tingler was forced to go to his bullpen early. Tingler will count on Davies to give them a solid start today. The Padres acquired Davies from Milwaukee in the offseason and he made a solid debut against San Francisco. He held the Giants to three runs -- two earned -- over five-plus innings (81 pitches), striking out five. He is 2-1 with a 3.48 ERA in four career starts against Colorado.

Senzatela looked good in Tuesday's 8-3 win at Oakland (his first start of 2020). He allowed six hits and two runs over five innings with three walks and three strikeouts. He has pitched well against San Diego in his short career, going 6-1 with a 3.30 ERA in 12 career games (six starts / 5-1 with a 2.89 ERA). Colorado's team ERA was an NL-worst 5.56 mark last season, as only Baltimore (5.59) had a higher ERA in all of MLB. However, the Rockies enter Sunday with a team ERA of 2.47, the third-best in MLB (Cleveland has a 2.25 ERA and the Dodgers lead MLB at 2.04). Colorado has won FOUR consecutive season series vs the Padres, including 24-13 at Coors Field during that span. Expect them to take the rubber match of this season and move to 26-13 at Coors Field against San Diego these last four-plus seasons.

I don't trust the Seattle bullpen at all, so we'll take them out of the equation.

Seattle's hitters own a combined 47 career plate appearances against Chris Bassitt, and produced subpar numbers (.179 average, .661 OPS, .288 wOBA).

Oakland only has one hitter who has ever faced Kendall Graveman: Robbie Grossman went for 0-for-5 against him. That unfamiliarity should give Graveman an early edge.

This is Graveman's debut in Seattle (pitched at Washington to start the season after coming over from Oakland). So he goes from one pitcher's park to another, and he should be pumped to face his former team. He performed well at home for Oakland, allowing a .685 OPS the first time through the lineup and a .648 OPS the second time through. That's what we like to see when betting first five inning unders. Oakland owns a lousy 74 wRC+ against righties.
