    Brewers +105 over White Sox
    Anderson/Rodon
The Brewers are looking to jump start things after three postponed games over the weekend. Brett Anderson will make his debut this year after battling blisters on his throwing hand to start the year. The good news is he is fresh. Carlos Rodon was coming back from Tommy John this season and in his first outing it showed. Rodon got tagged for 5 runs and didn’t make it past the 4th inning. At even money I like the Brewers in this spot against a pitcher that is trying to find his mechanics again. Take Milwaukee.

    Spurs +7 over Sixers
The 76ers were up to their old tricks. Dominate a game and then blow it. At this point it’s safe to say they are not well coached on the defensive end. The Spurs are a team with a new identity and coach Popovich could be on to something with this young energized roster. These guys know and have played together for a while and on a neutral court should keep this game competitive. The Sixers have size, but will they be lazy on defense against this quick Spurs team? Take San Antonio

The Seattle Mariners will look to even their homestand series Monday against the Oakland A’s. Struggling Oakland has scored three runs or fewer in six straight games. Expect a couple of early runs against Mariners pitcher Justus Sheffield before the tide turns in the Mariners' favor. Grab Seattle as a big home underdog.

On Monday, the Mets couldn’t ask for a better ace than Jacob deGrom to end their five-game losing streak. DeGrom has allowed two runs or fewer in nine of his last eleven starts against the Braves. Facing Mike Soroka for the second time in 10 days, expect the Mets bats to come to life.

The Grizzlies are 0-2 since the season resumed but easily could be 2-0, as they've suffered an overtime loss to Portland and dropped a two-point decision against San Antonio. New Orleans, which is one of the teams chasing Memphis for the final playoff spot in the West, also has lost both of its games in the bubble. Zion Williamson scored a total of 20 points in those contests but had his minutes limited after missing preparation time due to a family emergency. Expect the Grizzlies to finally get a much-deserved victory, or at least a cover.

The Reds have lost six straight home games to Cleveland, but I think that streak ends tonight behind Sonny Gray. He's 2-0 with a 0.71 ERA, striking out 20 in 12.2 innings. Cleveland has batted .146 over its last five games. Lay it.

This is a nice bounceback spot for the Lakers against a team they've beaten this season by 9 and 25 points. Utah will struggle offensively against an LA team that wants to regain its mojo. Back the Lakers to cover vs. the Jazz for the fifth straight time.

Carey Price made 39 of 41 saves in their last game and he will be relied upon heavily in their game tonight. The Penguins will come out firing being down 1-0 so I expect most of the play to be in the Montreal zone. Matt Murray looked much better their last game, and I expect this game to be a low scoring one.

The Phillies have only played three games, but they had the highest OPS in the league through those three games. The Yankees have won six straight games, although they have been against the struggling Orioles and Red Sox. There is no way this game should have implied odds of the Yankees winning 75% of the times, there is plenty of value to be had on the Phillies at this price.

The Braves have now won five straight games while the Mets have lost five straight games, and five straight to the Braves. The Mets have been putting runners on base, they just can’t get that timely hit. Losing Cespedes definitely won’t help produce runs for a guy in Jacob Degrom who they are notoriously bad at scoring runs for. Take the Braves at plus money at home.

Atlanta's Mike Soroka and New York ace Jacob deGrom have combined to allow just four runs through four combined starts, and they allowed one total run during their first head-to-head meeting earlier in the season. New York's two-time Cy Young winner seems to have a habit of getting into games in which just one run might be all the support he gets. Barring an unforeseen offensive outburst, this should be another such matchup and the total provides some wiggle room even of the bats do come alive. Take the Under.

I woke up in Chicago on Monday morning and it didn't feel like August 3. The temperature was 64 degrees, and it's not expected to get much warmer throughout the day. By the time of first pitch at Wrigley it'll only be 69 degrees with winds blowing in over 15 mph from left center. That's good news for tonight's pitchers.

The total for this game is depressed as is typically the case when Jacob deGrom is starting, and the Under is an intriguing matchup in any deGrom start. Throw in Mike Soroka and weather conditions in Atlanta that have shown to hinder offenses, and the Under looks even better.

Jacob deGrom is starting for the Mets on Monday, which means it's time to #FadeTheMets. When Yoenis Cespedes pulled a no-show on Sunday, deGrom was the only Mets player not caught by surprise because the Mets offense has been doing that to him for years.

Oakland is 21-0 as a 130-plus favorite in the first half of the season following a game as a road favorite in which it scored in no more than two separate innings and its starter did not go more than seven. It is 14-0 as a 140-plus favorite after a road game in which it used five-plus pitchers and did not win by 10-plus runs. The Mariners are 0-18 SU in series finales as an underdog of more than 120 after a game as a dog when they lost their last two and their opponent won its last two. Seattle is 0-14 SU in series finales as a 140+ dog after a game in which it struck out at least 10 times.

Atlanta is going for a four-game sweep here. We are on the Mets. The Braves are 0-8 SU as an underdog following a game as a favorite when they've won their last two and their opponent lost its last two. New York is a reliable 7-0 SU as a road favorite after a game in which its opponent scored first and a perfect 6-0 with Jacob deGrom when the bullpen allowed more runs than he did in his last start. New York gets the job done here.

The Cubs posted a walk-off victory against Pittsburgh on Sunday and have been buoyed by such a win. They are 10-0 SU at home following a walk-off win as a favorite. Kansas City was hammered 9-2 by the White Sox on Sunday and has demonstrated no character in this spot. The Royals are 0-20 as a 140-plus underdog before their 100th game of the season when they are coming off a loss of five-plus runs as a home dog, with each of the last nine losses coming by multiple runs. The average final score has been 6.65-2.85. The Cubs have the value.

                        CLEVELAND +130
                        CLEVELAND @ CINCINNATI | 8/03 | 6:40 PM EDT

Cincinnati is coming off a two-hit shutout win at Detroit. This has not been a good transition for the Reds, who are 0-8 SU at home after a road game in which they allowed fewer than seven hits. In its last five in this spot (all last season), Cincinnati was favored four times and lost by six or more on four occasions. Cleveland is coming off a 3-1 loss to Minnesota in which it trailed 3-0 after three innings. A fresh opponent is what the Indians need, as they are 10-0 in a series opener with no rest following a game in which their opponent scored first and they used fewer than six pitchers. The Tribe is oozing value at this price

                        L.A. DODGERS @ SAN DIEGO | 8/03 | 9:10 PM EDT
                        12:18 PM
The Dodgers are 0-4 as road favorites with no rest in a series opener after a shutout win in which they scored multiple times, losing every game by two or more runs. Los Angeles lost those games by an average of four runs and was an average of -142 on the moneyline. San Diego was up 6-2 in Chris Paddack’s last start but lost 7-6. The Padres are 6-0 as an underdog with no rest in a series opener when their starter has a sub-6.00 ERA and they blew a lead in his last start en route to a loss, as long as that starter has had less than a month of rest. The value is with the Padres.

                        CHI. WHITE SOX @ MILWAUKEE | 8/03 | 8:10 PM EDT
                        10:51 AM
The White Sox have been playing well and the Brewers have offered little resistance to streaking teams, going 0-7 SU with rest in the first game of a series against an opponent that has won at least two straight. Fitting in beautifully here is the fact that the White Sox are 7-0 SU with Carlos Rodon on the mound in August after they lost in his previous start. Chicago is the play.
