#3 Robin Sparkles	Intriguing sort took some money first out in an MSW that was off the turf, flashed high speed while dueling, and then tired late, but Jose sticks, she gets to the turf today, and looks like the speed of the speed; come and catch the pick.
#12 Dream Chasing	The chalk will be bet hard for Clement, who is having a huge meet, and on the MSW drop too, but this wide draw won't help, and the pick seems a bit faster, which means this miss may come up wanting on the hard chase; trying to beat.
#7 Frenchie Frou Frou	Closer has been running out of ground late and this snappy 5 1/2 F trip won't help, but the cutback from two turns to one should work, and they will be motoring early, so while a win is out of reach, she can rally for a share; exotics appeal.
Race Summary	That 5-1 ML on the pick seems very fair, based on the class drop, her speed, and her rider, so give her a look in all the slots, and especially in the early Pk5/Pk4 as well, since budget players will likely be singling the 12, which means a win by the pick would knock out a lot of tickets.

Saratoga - Race #6

#3 Indy Union	Stretch runner is up against it here with her style, as dropping back and making a run going two turns on this track isn't ideal, but this is a suspect group, and one that looks like it has some speed, and so just maybe she can win a battle of attrition, at a price too; upset special.
#5 Off Topic	Pletcher charge is probably the gal to beat, since she has the best overall form and is has run well going two turns too, but her last at GP was awful, and though it was at one-turn, she was odds-on and didn't run an inch, so at false odds here, she's tough to trust; backwheel time.
#1 Risky Mandate	Tricky read has never run past 7 furlongs and is a real guess here, and while her pedigree says it's within her scope, it's a bid odd she hasn't tried two turns in five starts, plus she'll be bet hard off her strong form, which only maker her a bigger underlay; comfortable making her prove it.
Race Summary	The price will be right on the 3, and it needs to be, as there's no doubt she's a reach, but with questions surrounding the top-2, you're getting enough risk-reward to give her a look in all the spots, and especially to end the early Pk5/Pk3, and kick off the late Pk5 as well, as a win would blow up a lot of tickets in all the sequences.

Saratoga - Race #8

#2 Turn of Events	Class riser was game in beaten MCL'ers here last month, and while this group is much tougher, he seems the controlling speed for a Maker barn having a huge meet; theft is on the agenda.
#3 Madate	The chalk for Pletcher was up in time over N2L foes and figures on the rise, but his lack of speed is a worry, as he'll be left with a lot to do off the far turn; scary, but may run out of room.
#5 Battalion	Dangerous sort was just 2nd at the level behind a streaking winner, while ahead of an odds-on favorite too, though he was a lot farther back last time, which is a concern here; worth a look.
Race Summary	The race flow points to the 2, and the price should be on the square side, so play him in all the slots, and especially in the late Pk5/Pk4 as well, as speed is never a bad thing on the inner, especially when a few of the favorites don't have a lot of it.

Laurel Park - Race #5

#10 Giulia Ammannati	Got back to her best stuff when moving back to the grass last time out, and she might get overlooked with this group while trying winners for the first time.
#3 Alleria	Tactical type has enough speed to find the front, but she's also got a nice rating gear, making her dangerous from any kind of forward spot. The one to beat.
#6 Rockstar Girl	Hasn't shown the turn of foot to quicken home yet, but she tends to get herself into good spots turning for home, so she's not entirely out of the question here with a bit of good racing luck.
Race Summary	Giulia Ammannati will get a class test while facing winners today, but she was never in serious doubt in that main win last out, and the price should be right here.

Laurel Park - Race #6

#7 Air Token	Demand something like the 12/1 ML price to take a shot here, as he's likely not fast enough to win this. That said, the race shape is murky, and he owns a bit of tactical pace from a good wide draw. This is a big step up off the claim, but he's heading the right way.
#1 Royal Crusader	It has been some time since this guy won a race, but he might be able to work out a cozy trip from the inside with these, and some of those recent races would make him a handful here.
#5 Absolved	Recent form stacks up nicely with these, but he's 1-for-18 and hasn't exactly been seriously threatening the winners in those recent races. Underlay?
Race Summary	Air Token isn't totally exposed after just four starts, and he has been improving with every start. He takes a hike off the claim today and might get a dreamy spying trip from the outside.

Laurel Park - Race #7

#2 Gennie Highway	Probably won't offer too nice a price in this spot, but she's a reliable finisher at this trip and has some upside in this second start off the bench.
#4 Princess Rosie	Finally broke through in that 18th lifetime start, but she looked really good that day and might be able to land an underneath piece with these at a price.
#1 Pins and Needles	Owns some back turf tries that make her mildly interesting with these after a couple of off-turf tries on the main track, and the 12/1 ML price would be plenty appealing in hopes she can get back to her best.
Race Summary	Gennie Highway probably wins this at a modest number, but Princess Rosie and Pins and Needles might be the right kind of underneath key horses to pair her up with to try to score

#2 Deckology	Was claimed by D'Angelo two back and this one make his first start for the new barn a memorable one as he got the lead at once, opened up by eight lengths and cruised home by six. Big chance for a repeat score.
#6 London Werewolf	Claimed by Marcial Navarro last time out when he was third going a mile; he turns back to six furlongs and can make a serious late bid.
#7 Hero Tiger	Won last time out by Cartegena and was gelded; he has been in some good races, including the G3 Indiana Derby last year. Is on a constant trip down the claiming latter.
Race Summary	Deckology stomped rivals last time out and will do everything he can to get back on the front end, where he impressed.

Gulfstream Park - Race #7

#7 Sassy Justice	Drops in class and moves over from the main track; kept fairly close in tougher races and at one point won three straight over thie course. Makes her second for Winebaugh, who claimed him and stepped him up in class.
#5 Hoponthebusgus	Woke up in his first start for Maker with a solid win at this level; likely to be tough right back.
#8 Lillie's Heat	Was truly impressive as she opened up 10 lengths and set down fast fractions last time. At the end, she cruised home by nearly three. Will be the target.
Race Summary	Sassy Justice ran poorly in a race that came off the turf due to wet conditions; can get back to good form on the turf as well as with the class drop to what looks like a more comfortable level.

Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard dropped 61 points on the Mavericks in a Tuesday win, and he's looking for more Thursday against the Nets. Bet365 has Portland a 9-point favorite.

NBA betting odds are up for a seven-game Thursday slate full of playoff ramifications, all in the Western Conference. The penultimate day of the regular season features arguably the hottest player in the NBA Bubble, Damian Lillard, who leads the postseason-seeking Trail Blazers against the Nets.

Multiple oddsmakers provided insights on NBA opening lines and early line movement, sharp money and public betting for Thursday’s matchups.

NBA line movement

Portland is 5-2 SU in the bubble (5-1-1 ATS), overtaking Memphis for the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference. Lillard is on a tear that includes a whopping 61-point effort in a 134-131 win over the Mavericks on Tuesday.

Bet365 opened the Trail Blazers -9.5 against the Nets, and the line ticked to -9 Wednesday evening for a 9 p.m. ET tip.

The streaking Suns are also trying to find their way into the postseason, and just might do it behind red-hot Devin Booker, who has scored 35 points in four of his last five games. Phoenix is 7-0 SU and ATS in the bubble and is tied with Memphis, a half-game behind Portland, for the No. 8 spot.

The Suns face the Mavericks in a 4 p.m. ET start, with Dallas locked into the No. 7 slot and having nothing to play for. Most sportsbooks opted against posting a line Wednesday night, awaiting clarity on the Mavs’ lineup, but FanDuel went up with Suns -5.5.

The Spurs and Grizzlies are also part of the four-team logjam looking to grab the West’s final postseason spot, so both need wins Thursday. FanDuel opened the Spurs -6.5 and moved to -7.5 against a Jazz team with nothing on the line, in a 6:30 p.m. ET start. The Grizzlies opened 4-point underdogs to the Bucks and closed to +3 late Wednesday night.

NBA public betting

Interestingly, the Consensus indicates some early public point-spread support for the 9-point-underdog Nets. Brooklyn was landing 67 percent of picks Wednesday night.

Chris Paddack and the Padres are in the midst of a solid shortened season, heading into a Thursday night clash with the Dodgers. Caesars opened host Los Angeles -140 and San Diego +130.

Thursday’s MLB schedule takes a little breather, with just six games, but MLB betting breaks for no one in a shortened season. Padres-Dodgers is the marquee matchup, as the NL West rivals wrap up their four-game series in Los Angeles.

Caesars sportsbooks provided insights on MLB opening lines and early line movement, sharp money and public betting for Thursday’s games.

MLB line movement

The NL West is proving quite competitive, as the Dodgers and Padres battle with the Rockies for the top spot. Los Angeles hopes to solve San Diego with a win in a 9:40 p.m. ET start. Caesars sportsbooks opened the Dodgers -140 to the Padres’ +130, and there was no line movement by late Wednesday night.

The Cubs took both games of a short midweek series at Cleveland and in fact are 8-1 in their last nine games, streaking to a 12-3 record, the best in the majors. With Yu Darvish going in a 7:15 p.m. ET contest, Chicago opened -178 home chalk against Milwaukee, with no movement Wednesday night at Caesars books.

Tampa Bay is on a five-game win streak entering Game 3 of a four-game set at Boston. Caesars pegged the Rays -154 favorites, with the Red Sox +144 in a 4:30 p.m. ET meeting.

MLB public betting

The Consensus showed early public support for the Cubs, who on Wednesday night were landing 60 percent of picks against the Brewers. The Rays were more popular, drawing 72 percent of early Consensus picks against the Red Sox.

NHL public betting, line movement for August 13

After a double-overtime Game 1 Wednesday, the Bruins and Hurricanes come back Thursday night for Game 2 in their best-of-7 series. Boston won Game 1 4-3 and is a -145 Game 2 favorite.

NHL betting odds are on the board for more Stanley Cup playoffs quarterfinal action Thursday. There’s no rest for the Hurricanes and Bruins, who needed double overtime to settle matters in Game 1 Wednesday and are back on the ice in prime time for Game 2.

Caesars sportsbooks provided insights on NHL opening lines and early line movement, sharp money and public betting for Thursday’s contests.

NHL line movement

Carolina and Boston can’t seem to get a scheduling break so far in their Eastern Conference best-of-7 series. Game 1 was postponed from Tuesday to Wednesday due to the Blue Jackets-Lightning five-overtime affair, and then the Bruins went about a minute into double overtime before gaining 4-3 victory.

Caesars books opened the Bruins -145 favorites and the Hurricanes +130, and there was no line movement Wednesday night for an 8 p.m. ET faceoff.

The Golden Knights posted a 4-1 Game 1 victory over the Blackhawks, prompting Caesars to open Vegas as -220 chalk for a 5:30 p.m. puck drop, with Chicago +190. That line also didn’t move Wednesday.

And in the day’s first game, a 3 p.m. ET start, Columbus and Tampa Bay try to shake off the weariness after playing seven full periods and half of an eighth on Tuesday. The Lightning came away with a 3-2 win, and they opened -170 Game 2 favorites at Caesars, with the Blue Jackets +155.

NHL public betting

The Consensus indicated two-way action Wednesday night on Hurricanes-Bruins, with 52 percent of picks on underdog Carolina. The Golden Knights were landing 68 percent of picks against the Blackhawks, and the Lightning were drawing 62 percent of Consensus picks against the Blue Jackets.
