1) Martin Truex Jr. (4-1) -- He has four road course wins with most of them coming the last few years. His first win on a road course was at Sonoma in 2013, and he has won three of the last seven, the last coming at Sonoma in 2019. He just knows how to get out front which is the name of the game. He's led laps in the last nine road course races.

2) Chase Elliott (4-1) -- He's the elite road course driver right now, leading all active drivers with a 10.5 average finish. He has three wins on road courses, two of them last year at the Roval and Watkins Glen. He's also been very good with this week's race package, winning the All-Star Race at Bristol.

3) Ryan Blaney (8-1) -- Team Penske has looked the best with this week's race package, and Blaney is quickly becoming one of the best road drivers. He won the inaugural Charlotte Roval race in 2018. Last season he was third at Sonoma, fifth at Watkins Glen and eighth at the Roval.

4) Brad Keselowski (12-1) -- He has never won on a road course but has been runner-up three times. I will have a bet on him this week because of his attractive odds and most of all because of the race package being used. He's won two of the five races this season using the race package featuring engines with 750 horsepower.

5) Denny Hamlin (13-2) -- He's pushed himself to be very good on road courses with his lone win coming in 2016 at Watkins Glen. His worst finish in his last 10 road starts has been 19th, and that came on the Charlotte Roval last season. In the other nine races, he's been 13th or better.

6) Clint Bowyer (20-1) -- He is going to be the driver that makes me the most money on the weekend if he wins. He's desperate for a win and has no contract for 2021. He's got great Stewart-Haas Racing equipment, and he's a great road course driver, one of the best. His 12 top-fives on road courses are the most among active drivers, and his 11th-place average finish is second-best. His lone road win came in 2012 at Sonoma.

7) Kurt Busch (18-1) -- He won at Sonoma in 2011, and I'm shocked he doesn't have more road wins because he always seems to be running in the top-five no matter what team or manufacturer he's with. In 40 Cup starts on the roads, he has 11 top-fives.

8) Kyle Busch (13-2) -- He is one of the best road racers, but his fourth and most recent win on road courses came in 2015 and 11 races have passed since then. However, he's always in the mix and knows where to make the pass. He also has experience on the Daytona road course. Since he has zero wins in 22 races this season this could be the perfect spot for him to get win No. 1, but I won't have a bunch of cash on him. I'll bet him as a safety valve to break even on the day if he wins.

9) William Byron (40-1) -- I've seen him lead laps in a few road course races, which leads me to believe he can compete when mixing in the banks of Daytona. He was sixth on the Charlotte Roval last season after leading 23 laps.

10) Kevin Harvick (6-1) -- He has two road course wins, but he probably should have a few more. He's been 10th or better in his last six starts on road courses and always seems to find his way to the front. With six wins on the season, he should seem to be a logical bet, but I'm not betting him just because of the low price and also because none of his wins this season came using this week's race package.

11) Joey Logano (15-1) -- There was a stretch from 2014 to 2016 in which he looked like he would be one of the elite road racers. He finished sixth or better in five straight road races, which included a 2015 win at Watkins Glen. But he's fallen back a bit in his last eight road starts with no top-fives and a best of 10th. The reason to bet him is the race package; he has a win and three top-fives in the five races using it this season.

12) Matt DiBenedetto (50-1) -- He was one of the best on the roads last season, finishing 11th or better between the three tracks. He's also been strong this season using this week's race package, the last being sixth at New Hampshire two weeks ago.

13) Erik Jones (50-1) -- He's been surprisingly good on the road courses, finishing seventh or better the last two seasons at both Sonoma and Watkins Glen. But the Charlotte Roval gave him trouble; he finished 40th there last season and 30th in 2018. He's in a lame-duck situation and needs a ride for 2021, and the best way to attract suitors is to perform well while still having a ride. He may be worth a small bet this week.

14) Aric Almirola (60-1) -- Since taking over the No. 10 Stewart-Haas Racing car in 2018 he's had his best two road course finishes with top-10s in both of his Sonoma starts. He was seventh in his last race using the 750-horsepower package at New Hampshire.

15) Jimmie Johnson (40-1) -- His only road course win in 38 starts was at Sonoma in 2010, but I could see him doing well just because of solid top-10 runs at the Charlotte Roval the last two years, a track that also incorporates the speedway banking into its road course. He's 26 points behind 16th place in the standings with four races remaining, and I expect him to respond with strong performances.

16) Brendan Gaughan (300-1) -- He is one of just 10 current drivers in the Cup Series to have raced on the Daytona road course, and he's also the only one to be part of a win. He was one of the drivers that won the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2011. He usually only participates in the superspeedway races, but his knowledge of the layout made him valuable and he wanted to race it.

17) Tyler Reddick (250-1) -- This will be his first Cup start on a road course, but he handled himself well on them last season with a runner-up at the Charlotte Rovel, third-place at Elkhart Lake, fourth-place at Mid-Ohio and fifth at Watkins Glen.

18) Christopher Bell (100-1) -- This will be his first start in the Cup Series on a road course, but he should have a little more spring in his step knowing that he will take over the No. 20 Joe Gibbs car next season. He won at Elkhart Lake last season in the Xfinity Series in a Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

19) Ryan Newman (150-1) -- His best road finish was a runner-up at Sonoma in 2006. He had a rough road course year last season even though he was seventh at Sonoma, but for the most part, he's a steady road racer, averaging a 15th-place finish over his career. He's a good fantasy driver on roads because you can expect not to finish worse than 20th.

20) Cole Custer (250-1) -- This will be his first road race in the Cup Series, but he raced on several of them in the Xfinity Series and had only one top-five. A bet on him is more about his Stewart-Haas Racing equipment than his road skills.
