This first round NBA Playoff matchup looks intriguing but at the end of the day the LA Clippers are the overall better team. The Clippers are healthy and a deep team and let's face it the Dallas Mavericks defense in the bubble has been horrible. The Mavericks defense in their last 4 games they have given up an average of 130ppg. The Mavs have dropped 3 out 4 games and that one win came in overtime and the Clippers have won 4 out 5 and Kawhi/PG13 are gelling at the right time. The Dallas Mavericks are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings against the Clippers and the Clippers are 10-4 ATS as a favorite.

5-Unit Play: Take 758 Clippers -6 over Mavs (9 p.m., Monday, August 17)
This is a potentially bad matchup for the Mavs. They obviously need Luka Doncic to tee-off but the Clippers are one of a few teams that owns the personnel to slow down one of the top offensive forces in the league. Patrick Beverly is questionable for the Clips but the good news is that Montrezl Harrell is expected to play. The postseason is what the Clippers are built for and they've had no trouble with Dallas, going 3-0 SU/ATS against them this season, including a 126-111 win in the bubble. Porzingis is expected to play for the Mavs but the Clippers should pull away over the final 12 minutes. I'm laying the points with the Clippers on Monday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
