It’s scorching hot in LA – a dangerous heat wave -- and the ball is carrying in these hitter friendly conditions. We saw seven home runs in Chavez Ravine last night, and seven home runs in the Dodgers previous home game against the Padres. Corey Seager is back; Mookie Betts is raking and the Dodgers lineup is once again a threat to go Over the total on any given night. In fact, the Dodgers have now cashed five consecutive Overs, and they’ve pounded out at least six runs in six consecutive ballgames.
It’s not like Seattle can’t hit. The Mariners bounced back off a dismal series in Houston with a nine run outburst last night, and they’ve been an Over machine this year thanks to a struggling pitching staff; cashing only nine Unders in their first 24 games. Seattle’s bullpen is in shambles – every key reliever got used (and hit hard) last night. Starter Marco Gonzalez needed 89 pitches to get through five innings in Texas last time out, no erstwhile ace. Dodgers starter Tony Gonsolin hasn’t finished the fifth inning in either of his two previous starts this season and the bullpen behind him is finally starting to show cracks. Even with an early start time creating some infield shadows (bad for hitters), this game still has the makings of a true MLB Slugfest, primed to fly Over the total with room to spare and worthy of a 'step-up' wager size. Big Ticket: Take the OVER.
