The Rays are 10-0 SU at home coming off a home game in which they drew five-plus walks, including 7-0 this season and 11-0 in the last game of a series when their bullpen allowed at least one run and they lost by one run in their starters last outing. The Orioles scored two in the top of the first yesterday, but the Rays gradually took over to win 4-3. Baltimore has been flat in this spot, going 0-13 before Game 90 as an underdog in the last game of a series coming off a loss in which it held the lead. The Orioles lost every game by multiple runs and the average final score was 7.85 runs to 2.00 runs. We are on the Rays.

Oakland has now won two straight over Texas, and the Rangers have not offered must resistance in this spot. They are 0-19 since the start of the 2014 season as a 160-plus home underdog against teams that won at least their last two games. The Rangers have lost these 19 games by an average of 4.53 runs. Oakland struggled offensively yesterday, but it got the 3-1 victory. The Athletics are 19-0 before Game 90 as 135-plus favorites coming off a game as road favorites in which they scored runs in at most two innings. The Athletics have won these 19 games by an average of 5.21 runs. Wow. Oakland is the play.

The MLB Comp play is on an San Diego at 3:10 eastern. The Padres fit a solid league wide system here today and have one of the best pitchers in the league going with D. Lamet who is 4-1 at home and has allowed 2 or less runs in each start this year. Seattle counters with Kikuchi who has allowed 14 runs in 18 innings and has been largely ineffective thus far. Seattle has lost 7 of 8 on the road and the Padres have won 7 of 8 overall. Look for the Padres to take the opener. On Thursday we have a big MLB Card led by a rare Platinum Supreme Side. It's rare that I'll bet on a team laying the -1.5 but this one has all the right stuff. First of all we have the road team that assured nine at bats, unlike a home team that won't bat in the ninth with a one run lead. Although I don't love what Bassitt is doing, I love it a whole lot more than what Lyles has done. He's made five starts, only once pitching a tad beyond the fifth inning, and sports a 10.08 ERA. Only once had he allowed less than four runs (he allowed three in four innings) and he's given up 15 runs in his last two starts. So, there is that. So let's suppose it's a close game. The Oakland bullpen has an ERA of zero over the last week and a WHIP of 1.03 over the entire, albeit short, season. The Rangers' bats have regressed back to what we thought they were. They haven't scored more than three runs in the last five games, scoring just one three times. When all is said and done the A's have plenty of ways to both win and get margin.

The Flyers came out strong yesterday and a took a 3-0 lead, but coughed it up late and then won in OT to even up the series at 1-1. This is a quick turnaround time and it will be interesting to see how both teams respond. New York goalie Semyon Varlamov was given the hook after allowing three quick goals and will most likely be back in net tonight. However, backup Thomas Greiss is more than capable. Philadelphia goalie Carter Hart has looked fantastic at times, but the Islanders are creating a lot of scoring chances.

The Canucks did a great job to even up this series, but they have really struggled overall vs. the Knights. Las Vegas is 9-1-2 all-time vs. Vancouver. The Knights came out flat and could make a change in net tonight. Give a lot of credit to a Canucks defense that blocked a record 40 shots, including the 38 saves by Jacob Markstrom. The Knights will respond in a big way on both sides of the puck tonight. They are 9-1 their last 10 matchups after scoring two goals or fewer in the previous game. Play Las Vegas -1.5 at +140.

The Twins’ Randy Dobnak, a Lyft driver just a couple of years ago, has to be one of the biggest surprises of the season after transitioning from the pen. He is now 5-1 with a 1.78 ERA. Tigers starter Matt Boyd is looking for his first win of the season and has been getting shelled to the tune of a 8.48 ERA. The Minnesota offense should come to life and tee off on Boyd, who hasn't made it out of the fifth inning in any of his six starts.

The A's have the best record in the A.L. at 22-10 and have won five of their last six vs the Rangers. Texas has dropped 10 of its last 11 games. Rangers starter Jordan Lyles is getting hit hard, posting a 1-3 record with a 9.25 ERA. He is 1-1 with a 7.16 ERA in three home starts. A's starter Chris Bassitt is 2-1 with a 2.97 ERA and is displaying good form.

The Red Sox are still struggling and will be going against a Jays team that is 15-14 and has a lot of young, talented players. Boston is 1-6 in its last seven games vs. LHPs.
