After splitting a pair of tight contests to start the series, Tampa Bay has had its way with the Bruins, outscoring them 10-2 in pushing them to the brink of elimination. The Lightning had seven different goal scorers in those two victories. Ondrej Palat is riding a three-game goal-scoring streak during which he has netted four tallies, including two game-winners. My model says Tampa Bay wins in almost 60 percent of the simulations, so expect the team to secure a berth in the Eastern Conference finals for the fourth time in six seasons.

The Cardinals ended their four-game losing streak with Sunday's 7-2 home triumph over Cleveland. They now visit NL Central-rival Cincinnati after taking three of four against the Reds at home last weekend. Cincinnati has lost two of its last three contests, scoring a total of one run in the defeats. St. Louis' Dakota Hudson has yet to win despite posting a 3.32 ERA over his first four starts of the year, but expect him to pick up his first victory on Monday as my model says the Cardinals win in over 50 percent of the simulations.

Miami is the best 3-point shooting team in the NBA. The Bucks allow the most 3-pointers per game in the NBA. Miami is going to fire away from the opening tip, and it is going to take Milwaukee a game or two to figure out how to defend it. Mike Budenholzer is notoriously slow in making postseason adjustments, and this series will be no different.

There comes a point in many playoff series in which one team simply cracks the code of the other. They identify the one weakness that, once exploited, ends the competitive portion of the matchup then and there. Houston did that in Game 5 by ignoring Lu Dort. Dort shot 3-of-19 from the field. He'll be better than that, but without devoting resources to him, they managed to lock down everyone else. Eventually, Dort had to be taken out of the game, and no other Thunder player could defend James Harden. It's a catch-22. The Rockets broke Oklahoma City's defense by allowing Dort to ruin their offense. The Thunder don't have a response to that on their roster. This series is over.

Tampa Bay is dominating this series and has won 14 of the last 17 meetings with Boston. The Lightning have a lot of advantages, and it starts in net with Andrei Vasilevskiy, who is 9-3 with a 1.93 GAA. The Bruins were dealt a huge blow when Tuukka Rask quit during the pandemic. Jaroslov Halak is really struggling right now. He is 4-4 with a 2.93 GAA. The Lightning offense is clicking and has five players with multiple goals in this series alone. The Bruins have just eight goals in this series. Look for Tampa Bay to wrap it up.

The Heat come into this game off a long layoff and that is perhaps the only thing that could cool them down. Miami won two of three meetings vs. the Bucks this year and match up well in this series. The Bucks struggled with the Magic’s three-point shooting abilities at times, and will surely be challenged by the Heat. Miami can really shoot the threes and spread the floor. The Heat have the depth to match up vs. the Milwaukee bench. Miami is healthy right now and playing with a ton of confidence.

James Harden only had to play 28 minutes in Game 5, so he should be ready for a dominant close-out performance. It's not like the Rockets shot the lights out in Game 5. They went 19 of 48 from deep. Look for OKC to improve offensively after its disastrous shooting night in Game 5, but not enough to stop Houston from winning and covering.
