7 Unit Play. Take #912 Philadelphia Phillies -150 over Washington Nationals (7:05 PM, Tuesday, September 1)

The Philadelphia Phillies will look for back to back wins over Washington Nationals along with their seventh win in their last eight games overall when the two teams meet at Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia, PA on Tuesday night. Aaron Nola (3-2, 3.00 ERA, 0.92 WHIP) will get the start for the Phillies and he will be opposed by Patrick Corbin (2-2, 3.82 ERA, 1.30 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the Nationals. The Phillies have posted a perfect 5-0 record in their last five games where they were listed as the favorite and they are also a perfect 6-0 in their last six where they were listed as a favorite at home. They have also won each of their last five games following a game where they scored five runs or more and they are an impressive 6-1 in their last seven home games. The Nats, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here tonight as they have lost four straight games off a game when facing a team that scored five runs or more in their previous game and they are 0-6 in their last six off a game where they scored five or more themselves. They have also lost five of their last six on the road where they were listed as an underdog and they are an awful 1-6 in their last seven overall. Throw in the fact that the Phillies have won six of their last seven versus an NL East Division rival an we're going to lay the price with them here to get the home win in Philly on Tuesday evening.

                        7-Unit Play: Take 724 Raptors -120 (ML) over Celtics (5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1)

I'm laying the money line with the Raptors on Tuesday. We had Boston on these pages in game 1 and rode the Celtics to an easy win. They played well on the defensive end but Toronto missed several open shots at a point in the game when they could have made a difference. Boston also took their game to another level on the offensive end making five more treys per game than they had averaged in bubble play before the playoffs began. It was a perfect storm, if you will. But with a day off to adjust and get used to playing a more difficult opponent than Toronto faced in the previous round, I expect the Raptors to win and even-up the series. The Raptors are as good as it gets defending the 3-pointer, so I expect Boston's 3-point success to return to normal in game 2. Toronto did a good job of forcing Boston into committing turnovers and this time I expect the Raptors to make them pay at the other end. Nick Nurse will make adjustments and I'm backing the Toronto Raptors on the money line on Tuesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

2-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 218.0 Boston at Toronto (5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1)
The Raptors got bum-rushed in Game 1. I give credit to Boston for being ready to play. But Toronto will rally and will give a much better effort here. I don't think that the Raptors are going to shoot 37 percent from the field again in this one. This should be a higher-scoring game and a tight one. I have a strong lean on the Raptors to win this game, but instead I'll focus on the total and on Toronto having a bounce back shooting effort here.

7-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 217.0 Utah at Denver (8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1)

3-Unit Play. Take #726 Denver (Pk) over Utah (8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1)
Let's keep rolling with the 'over' in this series. The last three games have gone 'under' and five of the six games in this series have gone 'over'. They also played once before the playoffs and that game went 'over' as well. And the one game that stayed 'under' only did so by six points. So why fight it. These two teams have topped 220 points in three straight and I think they will again. It's pretty clear that neither team has anyone that can guard Donovan Mitchell or Jamal Murray. And Denver has figured some things out on offense, hitting at least 50 percent of their shots over the last three games. Denver has gone 'over' in 13 of 14 games since the restart. Utah has gone 'over' in 10 of 12 games. So let's go to the well until the well is dry. The Nuggets have never come back from down 3-1 in a series and this is their seventh chance so look for a heroic effort from the Nugs tonight. Denver has the momentum so take them to go on to face the Clippers.
                          Carpe diem. Good luck

3 Unit Play. Take #922 Houston -145 RL over Texas (6:40 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1)

Houston did not make any moves at the trade deadline, satisfied the injured players they have coming back can get them into the postseason. The Astros continue to be nearly unbeatable at home where they are 14-5 and where they have beaten their in-state rivals 12 of 18 times. Texas has baseball's worst offense at 3.6 RPG and is a disastrous 3-11 on the road. And in the Rangers last seven contests, they are averaging a mere 2.9 RPG. For the Run Line, a team with a slugging percentage under.400, against a starting pitcher whose WHIP is 1.3 or lower, batting .215 or worse over their last 15 games, are 10-54 the last few seasons and losing by 2 RPG.
I'm getting back to winning ways with two straight winning days and going for a third on Tuesday. Also, check out my 6-Unit NBA Best Bet today and I have a hockey 2-Pack and I'm on a 22-5 run with the pucks.

3-Unit Play. #724. Take Toronto Raptors -1.5 over Boston Celtics (Tuesday @ 5:30pm est)

Per this selection, How much heart does Toronto have? Does Toronto really shoot 10/40 from 3 point land again and does Van Fleet really have one of the worst shooting efforts of his life? Does Toronto really give up 112 points again to Boston? These are the questions that are likely to answer itself today and we suspect that the Raptors will bounce-back today as they had a easy first series and now reality has set in against Boston. Toronto has a lot of heart, and honestly the best coach in the league and a fantastic culture and they will get back into the rhythm here and look for Gasol to have a much better game than the pitiful first game as well. Toronto bounces-back today.

4-Unit Play. #905. Take Over 9.5 Runs Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (Tuesday @ 7:05pm est)

As per this selection, I know the total seems high here but we want to take the Over here as Lester has simply not been himself right now. Note, both these teams made some big trades and have 3 new pitchers each so that itself should motivate every player in this lineup to hit well here and the Pirates have a great chance at being an active dog which could send this game over too. Both these pitchers have faced these opposing teams earlier this year as well so the hitters certainly have a beat on their pitches and look for the Pirates to get after Lester here and look for the Cubs to do what they do and as they broke out of their slump with 10 runs last game to keep it rolling here with another decent game in what should be a game that reaches 10 runs here or more.
