DELFT BLUE - I like the fact that this first timer has been working over the same track he'll be making his debut on. Uske and Harty getting together are a horseplayer's friend. ROYAL KITTEN - Ward sends this one to the gate for the first time. With a winning percentage of 26 with first timers, I'll give this one a serious look. Ward adds Lasix to this one today. I'd look for a significant improvement. DEWY'S HIT - Manley drops him down to this level. You don't need too much more information to believe this horse will be one to beat at this level. If you review the PP's for this racer, you'll see he has recorded the top Equibase speed fig at the distance and surface. A repeat effort in this race and this horse has a superb chance to win. This horse has the class to win the race. A tactical ride by Lopez, and this one could bound home the winner.

RICHIESGOTGAME - Doesn't look to be worth 4/1 this time out. Pass on him this time. LORING PARK - 5/1 is too low of a price to take on this thoroughbred. BRAVO BRAVO - Would have to move up off that third place finish last time out of the box to make an impact here. Not probable that the speed rating he earned on Aug 20th will be good enough in this affair.

EL CONSUL - With one of the top jocks in terms of gains at the window, don't count this colt out. Is tough not to examine given the company run in lately. PRINCIPE DEL LLANO - Should go to the lead and should never look back. The speed rating of 52 from his latest affair looks strong in here.

My pick here is REVEREND AL. Should come out strong - I have liked the way this gelding has moved rapidly to the front end recently. Recorded a very strong speed figure last time out. With a nice Equibase class rating average of 96, has one of the most competitive class advantages in this group. SIZZLING JAMIE - Has very good Equibase Class Figures relative to this field - worth a look. Has respectable speed figs and has to be considered for a bet in this contest. PUNALUU - Could best this group based on the speed figure - 85 - of his last effort. Always seems to be right there on the wire.

MERRIE GOGO - Was in a $15,000 Maiden Claiming race at Belterra Park last time around the track. That race had a class rating of 36 and she is moving down right here. A certain serious competitor. Sneaky speed on this one. She'll probably be stalking horses on the back side, then bury them down the stretch. I like this filly. Has the highest earnings per race in this event. You probably should disregard that last event at Belterra Park on a sloppy track where she finished out of the money. Should do well in today's race without the slop. READY SET GO - Nemann drops her down to this level. You don't need too much more information to think this horse has a darn good chance at this level. The latest speed figure of 13 is the best last race speed fig in the field.

ATLANTIS ROSE - The Brain always warns me to keep away from horses in short distance races that haven't hit the board in short distance contests recently. PAIG'S SONG - This vulnerable equine hasn't won at this track. This mount hasn't shown much effort in the last pair of races. When scrutinizing today's class rating, she will have to record a much better speed rating than last time around the track to compete in this dirt sprint. SHES MIGHTY FINE - Most of the time I need a sprinter to have some recent success in short distance affairs in order to bet on her.
