PITTSBURGH -21.5
SYRACUSE @ PITTSBURGH | 9/19 | 12:00 PM EDT
9:55 AM
Last week against North Carolina, Syracuse played really inspired football in the first half. But the Tar Heels' depth and talent was just too much to overcome. Pitt blew out Austin Peay last weekend, but the real story was how the Panthers looked in doing so. They looked in midseason form on both sides of the ball. That level of continuity, along with the fact that Syracuse doesn't have the depth this season, just makes this pick an easy one for me.

UCF -7.5
UCF @ GEORGIA TECH | 9/19 | 3:30 PM EDT
9:51 AM
UCF plays every game against a Power 5 opponent with the proverbial 'chip' on its shoulder. This is another opportunity to prove itself against a major opponent, hopefully making a strong enough case to crash the playoff party at the end of the season. QB Dillon Gabriel and the UCF offense will be much more consistent than what Georgia Tech saw last week against Florida State.

LOUISVILLE -2.5
MIAMI (FLA.) @ LOUISVILLE | 9/19 | 7:30 PM EDT
9:48 AM
This game will feature two of the best and most exciting quarterbacks in the country in Miami's D'Eriq King and Louisville's Micale Cunningham. Louisville's defense was the biggest surprise in Week 1, and that was a big question mark heading into the season. Meanwhile Miami's offense is still working itself out from a consistency standpoint. And that gives me the confidence to trust Louisville.

NORTH TEXAS +14
SMU @ NORTH TEXAS | 9/19 | 6:00 PM EDT
9:43 AM
This game will be a back-and-forth affair between two high-flying offensive attacks. I worry about SMU's defense, which had issues against a Texas State offense that was breaking in a new QB. This North Texas team is built like SMU and has the athletic talent on the outside and in the backfield to compete. The defense can run as well, with linebacker KD Davis leading the way. This one will go down to the wire.

NOTRE DAME -25.5
SOUTH FLORIDA @ NOTRE DAME | 9/19 | 2:30 PM EDT
9:40 AM
Notre Dame RB Kyren Williams was impressive last week against Duke. In what was a rainy, wet day in South Bend, we saw Notre Dame's veteran offensive line take control of the matchup. The biggest mismatch in this game is along the line of scrimmage. South Florida doesn't match up well against the Fighting Irish in that regard.

MARSHALL +5
APP. ST. @ MARSHALL | 9/19 | 3:30 PM EDT
9:35 AM
These teams used to meet in the FCS Playoffs often as former Southern Conference members. Now they meet in a very good Group of Five matchup in Huntington, W.V. This game will be all about the point of attack and who can win that battle. Marshall's front seven looks a lot like Appalachian State's defense last year. Thundering Herd LB Tavante Beckett is one of the most athletic linebackers in college football and will be able to stop the Mountaineers' potent ground game.

OKLAHOMA ST. -23.5
TULSA @ OKLAHOMA ST. | 9/19 | 12:00 PM EDT
9:30 AM
Oklahoma State has aspirations of getting to the College Football Playoffs this year, and the Cowboys have the firepower on offense to do so. With QB Spencer Sanders, RB Chuba Hubbard and WR Tylan Wallace back in the fold, they shouldn't have a problem moving the ball at ease against a Tulsa defense that lost two players to the NFL.

LOUISIANA -15.5
LOUISIANA @ GEORGIA ST. | 9/19 | 12:00 PM EDT
9:28 AM
Louisiana is coming off of an upset victory over Iowa State, in which we saw the defense take control of the game in the second half and get key stops. Facing a Georgia State offense that will be breaking in a new quarterback, the defense should get off to an even faster start, which means giving the offense more opportunities. I don't trust Georgia State's run defense in this matchup.
