L.A. LAKERS -6.5
L.A. LAKERS @ DENVER | 9/22 | 9:00 PM EDT
It took a three-pointer at the buzzer from Anthony Davis for the Lakers to win Game 2 over Denver, but it shouldn’t have come down to that. The Lakers had an eight-point lead with three minutes left in the fourth quarter and went ice cold down the stretch. They dominated during their 12-point win in Game 1 and are the better team, so I expect them to pull off a more convincing win Tuesday to take a commanding 3-0 series lead.

L.A. ANGELS @ SAN DIEGO | 9/22 | 9:10 PM EDT
10:45 AM
The Padres are 12-0 recently as favorites after a game in which they struck out their opponent at least 10 times. In Griffin Canning’s last start, the Angels were ahead 6-0 after three innings and went on to win 7-3. However, Los Angeles is 0-7 all-time with Canning when it scored first and won in his previous start. Note that the Angels were underdogs in only one of the seven losses.

10:40 AM
The Marlins are 0-17 as 110-plus underdogs when they are coming off a game as road dogs in which they stranded 18-plus baserunners and scored runs in fewer than five innings, and it is not a series opener. Miami has lost these 17 contests by an average of 4.65 runs and has not held a lead at any time in any of its last six games in this spot. Atlanta is 7-0 at home after Ozzie Albies recorded multiple hits and 9-0 recently as a favorite after it did not hit a home run. In their last two in this spot, the Braves have scored an average of 22 runs. We're not kidding. Atlanta is the play.
